Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the extent of operation efficiency for maintenance or the like by installing each receptacle at both longitudinal ends of a passenger conveyor, and when a plug of a portable operator is fitted in one of them, setting up such a means as opening an electric circuit lying between another operator and a control unit. CONSTITUTION:At time of operation for maintenance or the like, if a plug 7a of a portable operator 7 is fitted in an upper receptacle 5, an upper detecting switch 8 is pushed and thereby closed. If so, an upper detecting relay 10 is energized by a circuit of (+)-8-10-(-) and contacts 10a, 10b are opened each. Therefore a control unit 3 is in no case energized by another portable operator fitted in a normal operator 4 and/or a lower receptacle 6. Only the portable operator 7 fitted in the upper receptacle 5 is connected to the control unit 3 through a circuit of (+)-5-7-11a-3-(-), through which a passenger conveyor is operated for work. When the portable operator is connected to both upper and lower receptacles 5, 6 the detecting relays 10, 11 both are energized whereby operation by the normal operator 4 becomes impossible.
