Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the safe and efficient recovery of cutting scrap by introducing and sticking the cutting scrap of coated fibers onto a tape by the energizing force of a pressing plate after cutting of the coated fibers and moving the tape. CONSTITUTION:This cutter has the tape 9 which is provided on the end side of the coated optical fibers 3 of a stationary gripping base 2A, can be stuck with the cutting scrap of the coated fibers 3 and is formed freely movable in the direction orthogonal with the coated optical fibers 3 and the pressing plate 11 which operates cooperatively with the gripping actions of clamping means 5A, 5B and has the elasticity to allow the cutting scrap 3S to be energized toward the tape 9. The cutting scrap 3S is, therefore, pressed from above by the elastic force of the pressing plate 11 and is stuck to the tape 9 upon ending of the cutting of the coated fibers 3. The cut coated scrap 3S can then be recovered by winding the tape 9 after erecting the clamping means 5A, 5B. The cutting scrap 3S is collectively wound on the tape in this way. The integral treatment of the cutting scrap is thus executed safely and surely without the aid of manual labor.

In the optical fiber cutter configured in this way, the optical fiber core 3 set on the fixed gripping stands 2A and 2B is held in a state of being gripped by the gripping clamps 5A and 5B, and the core wire 3 is cut by the blade 8. By making fine scratches on the upper surface and pushing up the pillow member 4 from below, tensile stress and bending stress are simultaneously generated in the scratched area, and cutting is performed.

[Means for Solving the Problems l] In order to achieve such an object, the present invention places an optical fiber coated wire on a fixed holding table, and the end side of the optical fiber coated wire, which becomes cut waste, an optical fiber cutter that cuts the optical fiber by holding it with an inverted clamp means that can be held between it and the fixed holding table, and after cutting, removes the cutting waste from the fixed holding table. , a tape provided on the end side of the optical fiber core of the fixed holding base, to which cut debris of the core wire can adhere, and that is movable in a direction orthogonal to the optical fiber core wire; and the clamp. The present invention is characterized by comprising a pressing plate having elasticity that cooperates with the gripping operation of the means and can bias the cutting waste toward the tape.

[Function] According to the present invention, when the cutting of the core wire is completed, the cut waste is pushed from above by the elasticity of the pressing plate that cooperates with the clamp means for grasping the cut waste, and is attached to the tape. Therefore, by raising the clamping means and wrapping tape around it, the cut core wire waste can be collected.Also, since the cut wire waste is all wrapped around the tape, it can be safely and reliably collected all at once without manual intervention. Cutting debris can be post-processed.

10B are wound and held like 9A and 9B, respectively. Reference numeral 11 denotes a pressing plate made of an elastic body attached to the side surface of the gripping clamp 5B;
When S is inserted, the pressing plate 11 can be kept pressed against the core wire scrap 3S on the fixing base 12.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 2, since the attachment surface of the elastic member 7B is located above the upper surface of the fixing base 12 that receives the tape 9 by a distance D, the state in which the optical fiber core 3 is being held is maintained. In this case, the core wire waste 3S does not adhere to the tape 9. When the core wire 3 is cut in this way, the core wire waste 3S adheres to the tape 9 due to the downward pressing action of the pressing plate 11.
Even if the gripping clamp 5B is stood up, it will not scatter.

Then, by winding the tape 9 around the tape shaft 10A, the core wire waste 3S is moved from right to left,
It is wound onto tape 9A. In addition, by such an operation, a new portion of the tape 9 to which no core wire waste 3S is attached is guided onto the fixing table 12, so that the work can be carried out continuously.

[Effects of the Invention j As described above, according to the present invention, after cutting the core wire, the cutting waste of the core wire is guided and adhered onto the tape by the urging force of the pressing plate, and by moving the tape. In addition to being able to continue work by continuously removing cutting debris, it has also become possible to safely and efficiently collect cutting debris.
