Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a user and a calculator to efficiently execute totalization and settlement of accounts by returning a balance to a card together with cash in addition to simple subtraction to be executed in the case of a prepaid card. CONSTITUTION:A charge processing part 3 inputs sales amount inputted from a keyboard 2 with a CRT in a card 1 through the 1st reading/writing part 4, and if the amount of the card 1 is lacking in payment, the shortage is replenished by cash. When the balance is less than the limit value of the card price, the balance is stored in the card 1 through the 1st reading/writing part 4. Then the processing part 3 stores sales information and cash inputting amount in an operator's storage area of an IC card 7 through the 2nd reading/writing part 5. In addition, the processing part 3 stores the amount obtained by subtracting the cash inputting amount from the sales amount in the calculator's storage area of the IC card 7 as settled information through the 3rd reading/ writing part 6. Since the balance is returned to the card together with cash in addition to the simple subtraction of a prepaid card, portability more effectively than the carrying of cash (bills) and coins can also be utilized, so that both the user and calculator can effectively utilize the system.

Conventionally, this type of fee processing system has generally used prepaid cards and credit cards.
With prepaid cards, the payment amount is deducted from the balance stored on the card and stored as a new balance, and with credit cards, the payment is sent to the payer's bank via the credit company. We use a method of deducting the amount from your account in the form of a deferred payment.

Further, in terms of the system, payment is used for users, and there are three types of payment forms: advance payment, immediate payment, and deferred payment. Settlement or liquidation refers to the transfer of an amount between an operator and a liquidator (also called a settler), and payment methods include online using a line, bulk payment using a file such as FDD, or an IC card. Offline is often used.

In the conventional fee processing systems mentioned above, both prepaid cards and credit cards can be used in conjunction with cash, but prepaid cards have a low maximum amount and the balance decreases as payments are made. , there is the inconvenience of having to prepare a new card when the balance becomes low, and since credit cards can handle large payments, they are more resistant to human disasters such as loss, theft, misuse, etc. It has the disadvantage of being accompanied by psychological anxiety.

In the charge processing system of the present invention, an operator processes the payment of charges made by a user using a card or a combination of a card and cash using a charge processing terminal, and uses an IC card built in the charge processing terminal to process the payment of charges. In a fee processing system that performs payments with the liquidator in one lump sum, if the user pays the fee using a combination of card and cash, the change will be transferred to the card within a predetermined limit. Only the operator of the IC card built into the charge processing terminal can read the first storage means that stores the new balance of the card, and the information about the operator including sales information, payment amount, and amount of cash obtained. A second storage means for storing information in an operator storage area, and information regarding the liquidator, including a payment amount obtained by subtracting the amount of cash obtained from the payment amount, is stored in a liquidation wearable storage area of the IC card that can be read only by the liquidator. a third storage means; furthermore, the operator storage area is a first IC card, and the payment storage area is a second IC card; A number of times is provided, and a printing means is provided for recording a new balance each time the card is used in a balance display area up to a certain number of times provided with a number on the card face.

Figure 2 is a flowchart of the payment process in the embodiment shown in Figure 1.As a specific example, using a card with a limit of 1,000 yen and a balance of 450 yen, you can make a purchase of 700 yen and pay the shortfall by 10 cash.
The explanation will proceed based on the assumption that the amount is compensated by 0.00 yen. Charge processing section 3 is a key station with CRT - Sales amount of board 2 is 700
Read the yen (step), check whether there is enough balance on the card 1 for payment via the first read/write section 4 (step ■), and if there is not enough, read the cash 1000 entered in the CRT-equipped board-board 2. Check whether it can be compensated by yen (step ■), and if it can be compensated, calculate the change of 750 yen (step ■). Next, check whether the user wants cash from the CRT key station - board 2 power (step ■), and if the user does not want cash for change, the change will be sent to this card 1.
It is checked whether the amount is within the predetermined limit of 1000 yen (step ■), and if it is within the limit, the balance of 750 yen is stored in the card 1 via the first reading/writing section 4 (step ■). Next, the fee processing unit 3 stores the sales information 70 in the operator storage area of the IC card 7 via the second read/write unit 5.
Memorize 0 yen and cash acquisition method 1000 yen (step ■)
Next, 1,300 yen, which is obtained by subtracting 1,000 yen in cash from the sales amount of 700 yen, is stored as payment information in the payment storage area of the IC card 7 via the third read/write section 6 (step (2)). In this case, the liquidator will charge the operator 300 yen. Note that if the balance of card 1 is sufficient for the payment in step ■, the process immediately moves to step ■. In addition, if there is no cash deposited in Step 2, or if the amount is still insufficient for payment, the amount will be displayed on the CRT-equipped board and the amount will be displayed, and the process will end without processing the payment (Step [Phase]).
). Furthermore, if the user wishes to receive cash as change in step ■, rounding is performed so that no change is included in the change (step ■), and for example, if the change is increased by 100 yen, 700 yen will be returned. Next step @), move on to step ■ so that the 50 yen is stored on the card as the remaining amount. It is also possible to return the change in full by moving from step ■ to step @.

FIG. 10 is a flowchart of payment processing in the embodiment of FIG. 9, and as a specific example, same as the flow of FIG. 2,
An explanation will be given of a case where a card with a limit of 1,000 yen and a balance of 450 yen is used to make a purchase of 700 yen, and the shortfall is made up with 1,000 yen in cash. The fee processing section 3 reads the sales amount of 700 yen from the CRT keyboard 2 (step 2), and checks the number of times the card 11 has been used (step O). If the card is below the usage limit, follow the same steps as Step ■ and ~Step ■ in Figure 2 below◎
, ~ Step ○ is executed, and if the change is within the card limit, the balance of 750 yen is stored in the card 11 via the first read/write unit 4, and the balance display area of the card 11 is stored via the printing unit 12. The balance of 750 yen is printed in the next column where is printed (Step @). Next step in Figure 2 ■
, the same processing step 0 as step ■. Perform step ■. In addition, if the number of uses exceeds the limit in step O, or if there is a shortage of cash in step O, the CRT key board 2 card will be disabled or the insufficient amount will be displayed. Terminate without performing payment processing (step O1 or @).Furthermore, if the user wishes to pay in cash at step @, or if the change exceeds the card limit at step O, then proceed to step O1 or @. The same steps [phase] and (2) as in steps (2) and @ are performed, and the process moves to step O.

As explained above, the present invention not only allows the amount to be reduced like a prepaid card, but also allows the card to be used in conjunction with cash to return the balance to the card, making it more portable than cash and paper currency, and allowing for the handling of small change. This has the effect of enabling efficient aggregation and settlement by both the clearer and the clearer.

Further, by specifying the maximum balance limit of the card, abuse such as forgery can be reduced, and further abuse can be further prevented by displaying the balance and limiting the number of times of use. Furthermore, abuse by the operator can be prevented by providing access protection for the IC card, which is particularly effective when the fee processing terminal is installed offline and the payment is made in bulk at any time.
