ため装置の定期的なメンテナンスが必要となるが、その
メンテナンス性を考えて定着装置をユニット弐にして着
脱可能としたものがある。定着装置には二本のローラが
平行に接触して回転自在に配設されており、二本のロー
ラはギヤを介して回転力を伝えられるよう構成されてい
る。第2図はこの定着装置の側面回である。この図にお
いて5a、5bは定着用の2本のローラである。そして
ローラとほぼ同径のギヤ(図指せず)が定着ローラ5a
、5bの一端に固定されており、本体の駆動部より回転
力が伝えられる。この際ローラ5aが図のように本体か
らの駆動力を矢印Cの方向へ受けると、この力が定着装
置全体にも矢印eの方向に回転しようとする反作用力を
与えてしまう。本体からの駆動力がローラ5bに矢印d
方向に伝えられると定着装置は逆方向に回転しようとす
る。このため従来は定着装置の機械本体への固定はビス
による固定方法や、複数の位置決めピンと固定用のピン
とによる固定方法などが用いられていた。第3図(1)
はビスによる定着装置の固定方法の図である。定着装置
1はその両サイドの底部を複数のビス10によって本体
側の底板(図示せず)に固定されている。これにより定
着装置1は回転力を加えられてもユニットの一部が浮き
上がることがない。第3図−(2)は複数の位置決めピ
ンと固定ビンによる固定方法を示した図である。定着装
置1のギヤ部側の側板2には定着ローラ5と平行した方
向に位置決めピン3が2本突出している。
