内方軌道を、外周面に取付フランジを、それぞれ
形成した外輪と、上記内方軌道と対向する外方軌
道を外周面に形成した内輪と、上記内方軌道と外
方軌道との間に設けられた複数の転動体と、上記
外輪の端部内周面に内嵌固定され、外輪内周面と
内輪外周面との間に存在する空間の開口端部を塞
ぐシート部材とから成り、上記内方軌道の表面に
硬化層を形成した車輪用軸受ユニツトに於いて、
上記硬化層を内方軌道部分からシール部材が嵌合
する部分に迄延長させた事を特徴とする車輪用軸
受ユニツト。 (2) 硬化層が外輪の端面に露出していない、請
