Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain the subject synthetic leather having luxury feeling by coating a substrate with a resin liquid composed of a polyurethane resin compounded with a heat-expandable microcapsules and heating the coated product to effect the expansion molding of the resin. CONSTITUTION:A liquid resin mixture is produced by compounding a polyurethane resin with heat-expandable microcapsules composed of e.g. a low-boiling solvent encapsulated with a thermoplastic resin film. The resin liquid is applied to a releasing paper having a leather pattern and dried. A substrate (synthetic leather base) is laminated to the dried coating layer interposing an adhesive therebetween, the adhesive is crosslinked, the releasing paper is peeled off and the microcapsules are expanded by heat-treatment to easily obtain a synthetic leather having suede-like surface with luxury feeling.

Conventionally, synthetic leather with a suede-like surface is produced by coating the surface of the synthetic leather as a base material with the adhesive side and then flocking fibers such as nylon or rayon to give it a suede-like appearance, or by attacking the surface of the synthetic leather with a solvent. or by sanding or slicing the foam layer of so-called wet synthetic leather made by wet molding.
Alternatively, a method is known in which an impregnated cloth made by a wet molding method is puffed.

(Means for Achieving the Object) This object of the present invention is to add thermally expandable microcapsules as a foaming agent to a polyurethane resin (solid content).
It is blended in an amount of 5 to 25 parts based on the weight of the product, and if necessary, it is colored. When using the casting method, use a coating device such as a doctor knife coater or reverse roll coater to apply the coating onto release paper and dry it.
This is achieved by laminating a synthetic resin layer on this surface layer, bonding it to a base material, peeling it off from a release paper, and heating and foaming it.

The heat-expandable microcapsules used in the present invention are heat-expandable containers having a particle size of approximately 5 to 30 μm, in which a low-boiling solvent is encapsulated in a film or shell of a thermoplastic polymer material. The shell generally has a wall thickness of 10μ or less, more preferably 7μ or less, but it needs to be thermoplastic and have good gas barrier properties, so for example vinylidene chloride,
It is formed from a copolymer mainly composed of acrylonitrile.

When carrying out the method of the present invention, it is desirable that the thermally expandable microcapsules be blended in an amount of 25 parts or less, more preferably 20 parts or less, based on the weight of the polyurethane resin.
In addition, the synthetic resin molding temperature varies depending on the composition of the polyurethane resin or the amount of solvent blended, but it is approximately 90°C when considering the foaming start temperature of thermally expandable microcapsules.
Hereinafter, it is more preferable to adjust the temperature to 80°C or lower.

On the other hand, the heating temperature during foam molding is approximately 110°C or higher and 180°C.
It is desirable to set the temperature to 130°C or more and 160°C more preferably.

Next, this is heated with hot air at 70° C. for 90 seconds to form a film on the surface. Apply another layer of adhesive on top of that and repeat 7.
The adhesive is brought to a semi-dry state by heating with warm air at 0° C. for 90 seconds.

Then, a base material (wet synthetic leather heath) is laminated thereon, and after the adhesive is crosslinked, the release paper is peeled off. After peeling off the release paper in this way, it was heated to 120°C with hot air at 140°C.
Heat for seconds. By this heating, the microcapsules mixed in the urethane resin mixture expanded, and a synthetic leather with a suede-like surface could be obtained.

Example 2 Example 2 is based on a coating method, and was created by mixing thermally expandable microcapsules on the surface of a ready-made sheet such as pre-manufactured PVC leather or synthetic leather in the same manner as in Example 1. Apply the urethane resin mixture to about 0.3 inch. After drying this by exposing it to hot air at 70°C for 90 seconds, it is further heated with hot air at 140°C for 90 seconds. By this heating, the microcapsules expanded and it was possible to obtain synthetic leather with a suede-like surface.
