Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect automatically the part of a space corner where the temp. is low, and direct the flow of warm air thereto, by a method wherein, a temp. sensor which detects differences in the space temp., is made to work in conjunc tion with the swing louver provided in the vicinity of a warm air blow off outlet. CONSTITUTION:A radiation sensor 12 installed above a swing louver 6 turns horizontally in conjunction with the swinging movement of the swing louver 6, and detects the temp. difference in the horizontal direction of the space. Other than the radiation sensor 12, swing louver 6 which changes warm air blow off direction, drive motor 7, connecting rod 8, a control apparatus which concentrates warm air flow blow off to a low temp. corner in accordance with the output of the radiation sensor 12 is installed. Thereby, this space heater can automatically detect the part of a space corner where the temp. is low and direct the flow of warm air thereto. Accordingly, irregularity in temp. distribution in the space is eliminated, and the uniform temperature distribution of the space which is comfort to users can be obtained.

In the conventional hot air heater configured as described above, when fuel is combusted in the combustor (5), the combustion gas is mixed with air sent by a blower fan (not shown) in the wind tunnel (4). The mixture becomes warm air and is sent indoors from the hot air outlet (3). At that time, when the operating switch on the operation panel (2) is pressed, the drive motor (7) rotates, and the rotation is transmitted to the swing louver (5) via the connecting rod (8), causing the swing louver (5) to Make a swinging motion to change the blowing direction of hot air.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] In the conventional warm air heater configured as described above, the swing louver (6) only performs a swinging motion at a constant period. Therefore, when there is a temperature difference in the room and it is desired to send warm air to a cold area, it is necessary to manually turn the swing louver operating switch ON-OFF and manually change the direction of the swing louver (6).
