態へと変化するので、この性質を利用して、既に調光ガ
ラスとして実用化しており、一方ではデイスプレィとし

本発明の液晶表示素子は、電圧無印加時にはPDLCが
散乱して白くなるため、PDLC前方のカラーフィルタ

透明になるため、PD LC後方の光吸収体の作用で表
示が黒くなる。光吸収体を用いると暗状態が非常に暗く

分子・液晶複合膜を挟んで観察者と反対側に光吸収体を
