Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce number of bolts and make construction work easier by providing a protruding belt laterally on the outer periphery of a square-tube- shaped body, providing a tapped hole and longitudinal groove on part of or total of the four side surfaces, and providing a rib on the inner periphery of the body, surrounding the tapped hole. CONSTITUTION:A protruding belt 3 is provided laterally around the outer periphery of a square-tube-shaped body 2 in such a manner that said belt is protruded from the outer periphery. Then tapped holes 4 are formed through total of or part of four surfaces of the body 2. And ribs 5 are provided on the inner surface of the body 2 where the holes 4 are formed. Longitudinal grooves 9 are formed on the total of or part of four surfaces of the body 2 along the center line of each surface. Further, the upper and lower parts of the body 2 of a joining fitting 1 are inserted into butting parts of upper and lower column 7, 7 of a square pipe. And lateral grooves 6b on the surfaces of end plates 6a are engaged with the protruding belt 3 of the fitting 1 and bolts 8 are screwed into the tapped holes 4 of the fitting 1 through holes of the plate 6 and column 7.
