Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the surface protective film bonded to the surface of a molded product and preventing the damage or contamination of the molded product by providing a synthetic resin layer excellent in scratch resistance and contamination resistance to one surface of a synthetic resin film having thermal weldability. CONSTITUTION:A surface protective film is formed by providing a synthetic resin layer (protec tive layer) 1 excellent in scratch resistance and contamination resistance to one surface of a synthetic resin film (heat-weldable film) 2 having heat weldability. The protective layer 1 is made transparent or mat and unevenness such as an arbitrary embossed pattern is pro vided to the protective layer 1 to make it possible to impart beautiful appearance thereto. As the heat-weldable film 2, an appropriate one is used from a film composed of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer, polyurethane or an acrylic resin or a mixture of two or more kinds of them and a film composed of a laminate of said resins. The remaining heat possessed by the molded body formed by extruding a molten synthetic resin from an extrusion die is utilized or the molded body is heated if necessary and the surface protective film is closely bonded to the molded body so that the synthetic resin layer thereof having heat weldability comes into contact with the surface thereof to be integrally and thermally welded thereto.
