(Prior art) Recently, self-control (training) has been developed by displaying the subject's biological information and providing feedback to the subject.
Biofeedback is attracting attention. This biofeedback control allows you to perceive your own ecological information through visual, auditory, and tactile sensations,
The idea is to be able to self-control biological information by becoming aware of this recognition, thinking about it, or calming down. Examples of biological information include brain waves, blood pressure, skin temperature, heart rate, skin impedance, and other various information. For example, in the case of brain waves, as shown in FIG. 3A, the display control circuit 11 displays an electrical signal representing the frequency band corresponding to the subject's brain waves detected by the detector 10 and the potential difference therebetween (for example, the potential difference of alpha waves). , amplify it, convert it into a display control signal, and send this signal to the display 12.
The information is displayed using LEDs (light emitting diodes), etc. to provide feedback to the test subjects, and is used for self-training of the test subjects.

In addition, if it is the heart rate, it can be detected and displayed as a bar graph for feedback, and can be used for self-training to calm the subject.

Furthermore, if it is a skin temperature, as shown in FIG. 3B, the electric signal corresponding to the temperature detected by the detector 10 is amplified by the display control circuit 11 and converted into a display control signal in the same manner as described above. This signal drives, for example, the buzzer device 13 to generate a corresponding buzzer sound from the speaker 14 for display. For example, if the skin temperature is high, the frequency of the buzzer sound is slightly lowered, and if the skin temperature is low, the frequency is raised to provide feedback.

(Problem to be solved by the invention) By the way, biofeedback has been thought of as simply self-control, but the control of the biological information mentioned above is influenced by the relationship with the autonomic nerves and the cerebrum. (For example, the literature ``Self-control medicine,'' NHK Books, written by Tojiro Ikemi; the literature ``The road to self-control medicine,'' Kinokuniya Shoten,
Written by Naka Ishikawa).

For example, if we consider brain waves, alpha waves are brain waves that occur when we are relaxing or concentrating, and beta waves are brain waves that occur when we are thinking, such as when we open our eyes and look. When performing autonomous training using brain waves, the conventional biofeedback device described above detects changes in biological information by simply using different colors.
Since the display is simply a change in the lighting or flashing speed of the LED, or a change in the intensity or frequency of the buzzer sound, even if you give feedback to train the child to the α state, the child's thoughts will not work on the feedback lamp display. It learns and changes from α state to β state.

Taking skin temperature as an example, for example, patients with neurosis or psychosomatic disorders may have poor blood circulation that makes their hands cold, so we have them perform autonomic training to increase the temperature of their hands through biofeedback. In this case, the volume usually starts from a silent level and increases proportionally as the temperature of the hands increases, but in this case too, the user's mind acts on the buzzer sound and learns from it.
My hands quickly become unable to warm up.

In this way, conventional devices only provide feedback using simple sounds and lights, which creates a dependence on these changes in light and sound, making training using biofeedback difficult and making treatment difficult. There were many cases in which the device was no longer effective, and the device was not satisfactory for use in self-training, especially for beginners.

The brain has a neocortex (controls inhibition) and a paleocortex (controls instincts), and in conventional biofeedback, biological information itself does not suppress the neocortex of the brain, but rather thinks (stimulates). Therefore, self-directed training is difficult for beginners. On the other hand, even if the sound is the same, favorite music or sounds (for example, the sound of a river, a bell, a bird's voice, etc.) activates the brain's neocortex on the inhibitory side, so such sounds are used instead of traditional simple sounds. It may be effective to use meaningful music and sounds for biofeedback.

Therefore, the purpose of this invention is to determine the intensity and duration of the sound pressure (output) level of the subject's favorite music and sounds.
To provide a biofeedback device configured to vary the interval, etc., so that even beginners can easily perform autonomous training to direct them toward the paleocortex.

(Function) As described above, according to the present invention, not only the biological information level but also time is incorporated as feedback information. Therefore, if the subject's preferred music or sound information is preset as a sound source device, such as a CD player or CD cassette tape recorder, after the start of self-training, if there is no change in the biological information level or the change is small, plays music or sounds at a certain volume level, and
When fluctuations in the level of biological information become large, the volume level can be changed to listen to music or sounds after a certain period of time has elapsed in response to the fluctuations in the level. In this way, by detecting changes in the level of biological information at time intervals that suit a certain subject's preferences and maintaining the volume level corresponding to the biological information level for a certain period of time, the brain does not chase the information. In this way, the overall stimulation amount can be made smooth by changing the volume level to a different volume level corresponding to the new biological information level within a predetermined time after the level change is detected. Therefore, according to the present invention, even beginners can easily control themselves without having to get used to learning.

It is assumed that the detected biological information level shows a temporal change as shown in FIG. 2, where the relative level value taken in an arbitrary unit is plotted on the vertical axis and the time is plotted on the horizontal axis. The volume level of music or sound (hereinafter simply referred to as music), which will be described later, is also plotted in Figure 2, where the vertical axis is plotted with relative level values taken in arbitrary units, and the horizontal axis is plotted with time. It is assumed that the change over time is as follows.

This level adjustment signal generating section 30 is configured as follows, for example. 31 transmits the digital signal from the A/D converter 26 at a time interval S (S=
t + T) (where, T is the time to maintain the volume level at a constant level, and t is the time to shift the volume level from a certain level to a new volume level corresponding to the change in the level of biological information (also called time lag)). This is a level detector that detects the level. The sampling times are shown in FIG. 2 as S 1 , S 2 , S 3 , S 4 , and S 5 , and the levels in each case are shown as L 1 , L 2 , L 3 , L 4 , and L 5 .
On the one hand, the level of this sampled biological information is supplied to a level comparator 33 via a delay circuit 32 that delays one sampling time, and on the other hand, it is directly supplied to this level comparator 33 and a level adjustment signal generator 34. supply In this case, the level of biological information is detected first, and the level is directly supplied to the level comparator 33 and the level adjustment signal generator 34 on the one hand, and the detected level is sampled on the other hand. It is also possible to configure the signal to be sent to the delay circuit 32 described above. Further, this delay time can be set arbitrarily.

In any case, this level comparator 3
In step 3, the biological information level of one sample before, for example, the level L1 at time S1 and the level L2 at the original time S2 is compared, and a level fluctuation signal ΔL indicating how much level fluctuation has occurred is obtained. is supplied to the level adjustment signal generator 34.

The level adjustment signal generator 34 is supplied with the above-mentioned level fluctuation signal ΔL and the biological information level. In this embodiment, this can be configured as follows. The display section 6 corresponds to this biological information level.
You can change the luminous intensity of the 0 LED 62, change the blinking frequency, or change the LED 6 of many luminescent colors.
2 to selectively emit light and display it.
It is designed so that it can be converted into an LED light emission control signal and output. On the other hand, the musical sound generated from the sound source device 40 is displayed on the speaker 64 after the volume level is adjusted by the D/A converter type volume level controller 50. This is done using a level adjustment signal corresponding to the information level.

Therefore, if the biological level does not change during one sample period up to the sampling time S1 and is L1 , this level fluctuation signal ΔL is substantially zero, so the signal generator 34 converts it into a level adjustment signal of one of, for example, 128 levels according to the input biological information level, supplies this to the volume level controller 50, and adjusts the volume level of the music supplied to it. It is designed to be adjustable to P 1 .

However, as shown in FIG. 2, for example, when there is a level fluctuation like (L 1 → L 2 ) between sampling times S 1 and S 2 , the level fluctuation signal △
L is a finite value that corresponds to fluctuations. In this case, first, the volume level P 1 corresponding to the previous biological information level L 1 is maintained until this time S 2 ,
When the latter sampling time S 2 occurs, this time
After a certain level shift period t has elapsed since S2 , a level adjustment signal is generated such that a new volume level P2 corresponding to the changed biological information level L2 is reached. After this level adjustment signal reaches the new volume level P2 , it is held at this new volume level until at least the next sampling time S3 . In the embodiment shown in FIG.
Since the biometric information level has changed at this time S3 , the volume level is changed in the same manner as described above so that it reaches the new volume level P3 after t time elapses, but at the next sampling time S4 , the biometric information level
Since L4 is the same level that has not changed from the biological information level L3 at the previous time S3 , in that case, a level adjustment signal that still maintains the volume level P3 is supplied to the volume level controller 50. do.

In the present invention, preferably, the amount of adjustment of the volume level described above is such that when the biological information is at a low level as shown in L 3 in FIG . In order to set the music volume level to the maximum level P 1 (comfortable level), it is preferable to adjust the minimum and maximum levels in advance so that they are equally divided into 128 levels, for example.

Thus, this level adjustment signal generator 34
The system delays the adjustment of the volume level by the level adjustment signal compared to the change in the level of biological information, and also changes the output level of music and sound smoothly over time. Then, the subject listens to the music at this appropriately set volume level, and the subject is given a suggestion in his head that it is good to hear the music, and this suggestion is used as an autonomic mechanism in biofeedback control. It is extremely effective for training.

By the way, when increasing or decreasing the output level of music or sound at a preset interval time, for beginners, if the output level of music or sound remains low (silent or low level) for a long time, the neocortex becomes active in the cerebrum. , making biofeedback difficult. For this reason, it is preferable that the level adjustment signal generation circuit 3
4 is equipped with a circuit that detects when the low output continues for an appropriate period of time, for example, 5 seconds or more, and uses this detection signal to adjust the volume level by a few to several steps from that low level.
It is best to configure it to generate a level adjustment signal that increases the dB so that the subject can hear the music. Preferably, this silence period is 0.5
It is preferable to set the time to 5 seconds.

When changing the volume level, if the volume increases, a level adjustment signal is generated immediately, and if the volume decreases, a level adjustment signal delay time is set for the sampling time S, so that the subject can hear the music for as long as possible. It is preferable to do so.

Furthermore, this type of volume level adjustment is not an adjustment method that is tailored to biological information as described above.
It is also possible to forcibly adjust the level using the external control switch 70, for example under the control of a doctor. In this case, this can be done appropriately by selecting a level adjustment signal suitable for the level to be adjusted by the adjustment means of the control switch 70 and supplying it to the volume level controller 50. . In that case, the subject will listen to music at a volume that is simulated by the doctor's instructions, so they will fall into the illusion that they are controlling themselves well, and will be unable to control their biofeedback. This will help improve your self-training.

Here, in addition to lights and simple sounds, music is used in this biofeedback. As this music, it is effective to preferably use so-called 1/f relaxing music. In this way, we use music in particular because sound and light put the brain into a thinking state.
Not suitable for biofeedback, but 1/
This is because f's soothing music acts to draw the brain into the unconscious world.
Therefore, by using such music, anyone can easily control themselves.
In that case, in order to draw the person in even further, it is necessary to make the person feel confident even if they are unable to control themselves.
Therefore, in this invention, by momentarily adjusting the output level of the music to a comfortable level so that it can be heard, it is made to recognize that biofeedback control has been achieved, and the control is continuously performed. .

It is clear that the invention is not limited only to the embodiments described above, but can be subjected to many variations and modifications. For example, the level adjustment signal generator may be controlled by a microcomputer or
It may also be configured using a CPU. In particular, it is preferable to configure it with a CPU because it is small and compact. Further, the internal configuration is not limited to the configuration described above, and can be arbitrarily and appropriately changed according to the design as long as the configuration has a function that performs the same operation as this.

(Effects of the Invention) As is clear from the above explanation, the biofeedback device of the present invention can adjust the strength, duration, interval, etc. of the sound pressure (output) level of the subject's favorite music or sound. Since it is configured to change, it has the advantage that even beginners can easily perform autonomic training to direct them toward the paleocortex. Furthermore, since the device is configured so that the output level, etc. can be forcibly changed by a doctor or the like using an external control switch, it is possible to improve self-training.

The delay time created by this delay circuit can absorb complex changes in biological information that repeat within a short period of time, so feedback information that lasts longer than the delay time can be provided to the subject. Therefore, stable biofeedback can be performed without being bothered by minute changes such as noise, artifacts, or unstable biological information.

Further, since the delay time created by this delay circuit can be set arbitrarily, it is possible to change the responsiveness of the biofeedback device. For this reason, a delay time (responsiveness) suitable for the test subject's proficiency level can be set. For example, by having highly skilled people perform biofeedback with minimal delay, they can learn self-control and self-adjustment in a short period of time.
