Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for operation of plural remote controllers one after another by storing a signal code of an infrared ray remote controller of other company to an infrared ray remote controller receiver built in a television receiver and providing a circuit acting like a definite operation when the stored signal code is received. CONSTITUTION:An infrared ray emitting from a remote controller is converted into an electric signal by a photodiode. The signal is subjected to AGC amplification, detection and waveform shaping and inputted to a decode section as a pulse train. The inputted signal code is compared with a signal code stored in a signal storage section (RAM/ROM) at a decode section and when it is discriminated that they are the same, an instruction is given to a control section (sound volume adjustment, TV tuning, POWER ON/OFF, input switching latch) and respective operations are implemented.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] <A) Industrial Application Field This invention relates to a TV receiver incorporating a programmable infrared remote control reception control circuit. (Mouth) Conventional technology Previous infrared remote controllers could only perform a certain operation using a predetermined signal pulse code. For this reason, the remote control transmitter itself had multiple functions. However, one manufacturer's remote control could not operate another manufacturer's equipment. There were programmable remote control transmitters that could control other manufacturers' equipment by memorizing and transmitting the transmission pulse code. There was no TV receiver AV amplifier with a built-in programmable remote control receiving circuit that operates on signals.
This required at least four operations: turning on the VTR and VTR, switching the TV's input from the built-in tuner to the VTR, and pressing the VTR's play button. If it is combined with an AV amplifier etc., even more operations are required.8! It was difficult to use for people who are sensitive to noise. Also, when using a remote control, it is difficult to use for TVs, VTRs, AV amplifiers, etc. Each had to use its own remote control. (c) Problems to be solved by the invention The problems to be solved by the invention are as follows. The goal is to make it possible to use one manufacturer's infrared remote control transmitter to operate another manufacturer's TV receiver, and to find out how to play and watch VTRs with fewer button presses. (2) Means for solving the problem: Therefore, the signal code of another company's infrared remote control is stored in the infrared remote control receiver built into the TV receiver. When the stored signal code is received, the determined operation is performed. If you have a circuit, you can use Company A's infrared remote control transmitter for VTRs (usually with buttons to turn on/off the power, channel, volume, etc. of Company A's TV),
Even if this is not the case, you can allocate keys that are rarely used for TV control, allowing you to operate Company B's TV, etc. Also, to reduce the number of operations. For example, when you press the play button on a certain VTR. All you need to do is to automatically switch the input selector of the TV or AV amplifier to the external input connected to the VTR, or turn on the power of the TV. However, many AV devices such as VTRs and DVD players do not have a mechanism to send a signal indicating that the playback button is pressed to a TV, etc.1 Even if they do, the standards vary depending on each manufacturer. Yes/No R-ness. Therefore, we gave up on operating the main unit and installed a programmable remote control receiving circuit in the TV or AV amplifier.
I decided to receive the infrared rays emitted when I press the play button on a remote control such as a TR, and use it to turn on the power or switch to external input. In this way, you can control TVs from other companies with a single VTR remote control, and you can also automatically turn on the TV or change the TV input just by pressing the play button. To do this, the infrared remote control receiving circuit of the AVIJI device must be equipped with a circuit for storing each company's remote control signal code (
RAM) Or. In the former case, the signal code (reader code, custom code, custom code, Data codes, etc.) are stored in RAM.The technology of currently popular programmable remote control transmitters can be applied as is. is determined by the manufacturer〉R
Select 〇84 and write it down. Furthermore, set what functions will be performed when receiving those signal codes. Store it in RAM of the infrared remote control receiver. (e) Operation When the signal from the infrared remote controller is received and matches the stored signal code, the preset operation (power, volume, channel selection, etc.) or the operation set by the user (
(switching to external input, etc.). When Company B's TV, which pretends to be Company A's TV, receives the infrared signal code sent from Company A's remote control to control Company A's TV, Company A's remote control can control Company B's TV. Can be operated. Also, for example, when a TV remote control receiver receives an infrared signal code emitted when you press the play button on a VTR remote control, it automatically
■You can also turn on the power of the remote control and switch to an external input connected to a bare VTR or other device. (f) Embodiment FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of claim 1. The infrared rays emitted from the remote control are converted into electrical signals by a photodiode, which is then amplified by AGC. The signal is detected, waveform-shaped, and input as a pulse train to the decoding section. The input signal code is compared with the signal code stored in the signal storage section (RAM/ROM) in the decoding section. If it is determined that they are the same, the control unit (volume adjustment, TV tuning, PO
Commands are sent to WERON/OFF, input switching latch) and respective operations are performed. FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of claim 2. A video signal detection circuit is added to the block diagram showing the embodiment of claim 1. A of VTR etc.
When the Vlill device is powered on, a synchronizing signal of more than 100 mV is output to its video output line, and by detecting it, the voltage connected to its input is output.
T R f, p Determine which power source is on. Program it so that the TV or other device turns on or inputs are switched only when the VTR or other device connected to that input is turned on. If the power of the connected VTR etc. is not turned on. Even if you receive a signal code stored as an input switch, you will not be able to turn on the TV, etc. This is because there is no need to switch inputs. (g) Effects of the invention With this invention, it became possible to operate other companies' TVs just with the VTR's remote control. There is no need to use multiple remote controllers to operate the remote control.
Turn on the D player. Set the tape or disc,
By simply pressing the play button on the remote control, you can now play and watch video tapes and video discs without having to worry about turning on the TV or AV amplifier or switching inputs. Moreover, if a t source such as a VTR is not on, pressing the play button on the VTR will not work.
This can prevent power supplies such as V from being turned on by mistake. Maf. : When the TV input is set to external input, the TV's t source automatically turns off when the video signal disappears. It is also easy to make the built-in tuner switch over. This allows you to simply turn off the power to the VTr after playback is complete.
It is convenient because it automatically turns off power supplies such as V. Even people who are not mechanically savvy can now enjoy videos that previously required complicated operations.
