Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent injury of edge parts even if a paper feed roller is formed out of raw material of high friction coefficient such as rubber by forming a flat cutout face having non-contact relation with received sheets on a part of the circumferential face of a paper feed roller, and coating the cutout face and its both side edge parts with a member of low friction coefficient. CONSTITUTION:A lever 15 always energized to slidably contact with the circumferential face of a cam 13 is brought into contact with the engaging projection part 13a of the cam 13 through its extreme end, so that the cutout faces 10a of paper feed rollers 10 are stopped on the upward inclined position facing to the inserting side of a manual inserting sheet S2. When the manual inserting sheet S2 is slidably inserted between a paper sheet cover 5 and a manual inserting sheet guide plate 6 in this condition, so as to print on a desired sheet, the extreme end of the sheet abuts to the cutout faces 10a of the paper feed rollers 10, the sheet is smoothly guided with thin plates 11 of low friction coefficient provided on the faces 10a, guided with a sheet guide plate 8 same as received sheet S1 in a cassette, and fed to a platen 7.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Industrial Field of Application) The present invention provides sheet feeding for feeding stored sheets to a recorded image forming section using a so-called D-shaped paper feeding roller having a part of its circumference cut out. In particular, it is a sheet feeding device that makes it possible to manually insert sheets by using the notch of this type of D-shaped paper feeding roller. (Prior art) In copying machines, recording devices, etc., in addition to sheets cut to a predetermined size, sheets of special sizes or thick sheets can be cut. ! Copying or recording may be required, so
It has become common for devices of this type to be provided with an insertion path for manually feeding sheets in addition to a transport path for fixed size sheets stored in a paper feed tray or a paper feed cassette. This insertion path for manual feed sheets is affected by the operational force \ and the force provided above the conveyance path for fixed size sheets. Because of this, the insertion path for the manual sheet must necessarily be provided above the feeding roller.
Particularly in the case of small-sized printers, there are problems in design when trying to make the product thinner, or a large curved part must be provided in the insertion path, making manual insertion extremely cumbersome. I had a problem.
On the other hand, the D-type paper feed roller, which is used as a feeding means for fixed-size sheets, is superior in that the sheet and roller can be kept in a non-contact state when paper is not being fed. On the other hand, this type of roller has the effect of pressing the sheet from above with the notched edge at the beginning of sheet feeding, so long-term use can cause problems such as wear of the end clamp or inaccurate feeding. occurs,
In addition, in order to eliminate such inconvenience, the special public
In the case where the edge roller is disposed at the notch end, as is not disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 2867, there arises a problem that the roller becomes unnecessarily complicated. (Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and its purpose is to enable a good insertion operation of manually fed sheets using a D-type paper feed roller. Another object of the present invention is to provide a new sheet feeding device that allows the device to be made significantly thinner.

(Means for Solving the Problems) That is, the present invention is a sheet feeding device for achieving the purpose of edging, and a part of the circumferential surface of a paper feeding roller has a non-contact relationship with the stored sheets. The notch surface and both side edges are covered with a material with a small friction coefficient. This device is equipped with a locking part that positions the paper feed roller so that it can be tilted upward in a standby position. (Function) With this configuration, the sheet inserted from the manual sheet insertion section is guided to the same feeding path as the storage sheet along the notch surface with a small friction coefficient provided between the paper feed slot and the paper feed slot. can be sent to the record writing section. (Example) Therefore, the example illustrated below will be explained. FIG. 1 shows a sheet feeding device M which is an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 shows the main parts thereof. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a sheet mounting plate installed in the cassette 2 so as to be able to swing up and down using the rear end as a fulcrum. The sheet S1, which is constantly biased upward, is brought into contact with the lower surface of the separation claw 4 provided at the top end of the cassette 2. I'm pressuring them to do so. Reference numeral 5 denotes a paper cover that covers the opening of the cassette 2. This paper cover 5 cooperates with a manual sheet guide plate 6 provided with a slight gap above the paper cover 5 to feed manually fed sheets S27a to the platen 7. It also has a function as a guide plate, and a recess 5a is formed at its front end to avoid the grated paper rollers 10 and 10t, which will be described later. 5
b passes below the paper feed rollers 10 and 1o to the cassette 2.
It extends to near the leading edge of. On the other hand, the paper feed roller indicated by the reference numeral 10 in the figure is located at the sheet sl! stored in the cassette. Feeding function and manual feed sheet Sz
The notch surface of this paper feed roller 10 is formed by flatly cutting out a part of the circumferential surface 10a, similar to the well-known D-type paper feed roller. 10b, a thin plate 11 made of a material with a small coefficient of friction such as stainless steel or tetrafluoroethylene is integrally attached to it and serves as an insertion guide surface for the manual sheet S2. Both ends of the paper feed roller 11 extend from the cutout surface 10b to a part of the circumferential surface 10a, and prevent damage to the edge portion 10c of the paper feed roller 10, which is made of a rubber material or the like. , 15 is designed to keep the paper feed roller 10 always stopped at the guide position of the manual feed sheet S2, and when a paper feed command signal is input. This lever operates to rotate this paper feed roller 10. This lever 15 is connected to the paper feed roller drive shaft 1.
Under the standby state in which the cam 3 is constantly urged to be in sliding contact with the circumferential surface of the cam 13 fixed to the shaft end of the cam 13, and the cam 3 is stopped by abutting against the engagement protrusion 13a. The paper feed roller 10 is positioned so that the cutout surface 10b of the paper feed roller 10 is inclined upward toward the insertion side of the manual feed sheet S2, as shown in FIG. 3(a). In addition, when the solenoid 17 is temporarily sucked, the paper feed roller 10 is rotated once by disengaging from the engagement protrusion 13a, and the sheet S, stored in the cassette is fed by the circumferential surface 10a. It is designed to perform the action to be sent. In the figure, reference numeral 8 indicates a sheet guide plate disposed between the cassette 2 and the platen 7, and 9 indicates a print head. In the device configured as described above, the lever 15, which is always biased so as to be in sliding contact with the circumferential surface of the cam 13, is moved from the paper feed slot roller 1 by bringing its tip into contact with the engaging protrusion 13a of the cam 13.
0 at the position shown in FIG. 3(a), that is, the notch surface 10
A is stopped in a position tilted upward toward the insertion side of the manual sheet S2. In this state, in order to print on a desired sheet, insert the manual sheet sz between the paper cover 5 and the manual sheet guide plate 6.
! When it is slid in, its tip hits the notched surface 10a of the paper feed roller 10 that is inclined upward, and is smoothly guided by the thin plate 11 with a small friction coefficient provided on that surface, and is then inserted into the cassette storage sheet S1. The sheet is fed to the platen 7 while being guided by the same sheet guide plate 8. On the other hand, if a paper feed command signal is input in this standby state,
A driving force is transmitted to the feed port roller shaft 12 via a clutch (not shown), and at the same time, the solenoid 17 temporarily attracts the lever 15 to disengage the cam 13. From this, the paper feed roller 10, which has started rotating in the direction of the arrow in the figure from the state shown in FIG. While pushing it down, send it out towards the platen 7 (Fig. 3 (1)
))). Then, when the cutout surface 10b of the paper feed roller 10 returns to the insertion guide position of the manual sheet S2 after one rotation, the tip of the lever 15 comes into contact with the engagement protrusion 13a of the cam 13, and the paper feed roller 10 Hold it in this position. In the embodiment described above, the cam 13 on the paper feed roller drive shaft 12 is used as a means for locking the cutout surface 10b of the paper feed roller 10 so that it is tilted upward toward the insertion side of the manual sheet S2 during standby. A mechanism is used in which the lever 15 engages and disengages the paper feed roller, but the paper feed roller] ○ is attached to the shaft end of the paper feed roller drive shaft 12 by acting on the drive shaft 12 itself or a cam on the drive shaft 12. It may be configured to include a well-known click mechanism that can be locked in position, and if configured in this way, the device can be further simplified. (Effects) As described above, according to the present invention, the cutout surface of the D-shaped paper feed slot-R is covered with a member having a small friction coefficient, so that during standby, this surface faces upward toward the manual sheet insertion side. The D-type paper feed roller locks the paper feed slot roller so that it is tilted, so when paper is not being fed, the contact between the storage sheet and the paper feed slot roller is cut off, and no roller marks are left on the sheet. In addition to achieving the original effect, it is also possible to feed the manual sheet to the record writing section through the same feeding path as the storage sheet by following the notch surface with a small friction coefficient provided on this paper feed roller. As a result, this type of printer can be made thinner and the number of parts can be significantly reduced. Moreover, since not only the notch surface but also the latitudinal parts on both sides of the notch surface are covered with a member having a small coefficient of friction, even if the paper feed slot roller is formed of a material such as rubber with a high coefficient of friction, the edge part There is no damage at all, and its durability can be greatly improved.
