Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve sealing ability between a header tank constituting body and a header plate by a method wherein an annular groove is formed in the surface, making close contact with a header plate, of a flange formed on the peripheral edge of an opening part throughout a whole periphery, resilient resin is injected in the annular groove, and a gasket a part of which is protruded from the groove is formed. CONSTITUTION:A header tank 2 comprises a boxform header tank constituting body 10 made of a metal having an out flange 11 for mounting a header plate formed integrally with the peripheral edge of an opening, and a header plate 13 made of a metal closing the opening of the tank constituting body 10. An annular groove 14 is formed in the surface, where the header plate 13 is brought into close contact with a flange 12, of the header constituting body 10 throughout the whole periphery of the flange 12. Resilient resin is injected in the annular groove 14, and a gasket, a part of which is protruded from the groove 14, is formed integrally with the groove. It is preferable that the portion, protruded from the groove, of the gasket 12 is polished.

ケットと環状溝の周面との間に隙間が生じるのが防止で
きる。また、ガスケットにおける環状溝から突出した部
分に研磨を施したとじてもガスケットに伸びが生じるこ
とはなく、ガスケットとヘッダプレートとの間に隙間が
生じるのが防止できる。したがって、ヘッダタンク構成
体とヘッダプレートとの間の密封性が向上する。
