Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce mechanical strength so as to lighten a radome integrated type parabolic antenna by integrating a spherical radome with a parabolic antenna for constitution. CONSTITUTION:The spherical radome 1 is supported so that a rotation axis part 4 comes to a vertical direction by supporting metal fittings 5 and 6, and the reflector 2 and the primary radiating element 3 of the parabolic antenna are mounted at the internal part of the spherical radome 1. The inner diameter of the spherical radome 1 is generated larger than the diameter of the reflector 2 and the rotation axis part 4 is provided so that the center line of the spherical radome 1 passes an external surface. The spherical radome 1 can be rotated in the rotation axis part 4 and the direction of the parabolic antenna can be adjusted by rotating the spherical radome 1.

FIGS. 1(a) and 1(b) are a side view and a top view showing an embodiment of a radome-integrated parabolic antenna of the present invention. The spherical radome 1 is supported by support fittings 5 and 6 with the rotating shaft 4 oriented vertically, and a reflector 2 and a primary radiator 3 of a parabolic antenna are mounted inside the spherical radome 1. . The inner diameter of the spherical radome l is made larger than the diameter of the reflector 2, and the rotating shaft portion 4 is provided at a position where the center line of the spherical radome l passes through the outer surface. The spherical radome 1 is rotatable on a rotating shaft portion 4, and the orientation of the parabolic antenna can be adjusted by rotating the spherical radome 1.

As explained above, the present invention integrates a spherical radome and a parabolic antenna, and since the parabolic antenna is protected by the radome, it is possible to reduce the mechanical strength and reduce the weight. By sealing it, corrosion can be prevented and the service life can be extended. Furthermore, by rotating the spherical radome around the rotating shaft, the range of direction adjustment of the parabolic antenna can be greatly expanded, which has the effect of reducing restrictions on the mounting location.
