Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent sheets from coming into contact with each other immediately after discharge so as to secure the time for drying ink and prevent the sheets from being soiled by recessing a discharged paper tray with respect to the recording surface of sheets in a recording device which performs recording on sheets by means of injection of drops of ink. CONSTITUTION:A discharged paper tray 6 slanting to the rear side of a recording device and recessed to the front side in the vertical direction is provided on the front face of the pair of paper discharge rollers 4, 5 of a paper discharge opening 3. Sheets P1 already discharged are accumulated with their recording surface recessed along the form of the discharged paper tray 6, while a sheet P2 being discharged is plane; so the sheets P1 and P2 do not come into contact with each other until ink just used for printing is dried. Also a roller 5a provided on the side of the recording surface of sheets is smaller in diameter at the center side than at the peripheral side thereof so that sheets are discharged with their recording faces projected; or a spur 4b is provided with a flange 4c so that the sheets are discharged while being corrugated in the direction perpendicular to that in which sheets are discharged, thereby further extending the time that elapses before the sheets come into contact with each other.

However, in recent years, there has been a strong demand for the use of plain paper, and in order to ensure the printing characteristics of plain paper, such as feathering, drying time, density, water resistance, light resistance, etc., it is necessary to improve the ink itself or improve the recording device. Improvements have been made.

Among these printing characteristics, especially regarding drying time, there is a limit to the improvement on the ink side in terms of print quality and reliability of the nozzle that ejects ink droplets, and in many cases countermeasures are taken on the device side.

For example, in the case shown in FIG. 6, the guide member C is narrowed so that the sheet a discharged after printing does not come into contact with the sheet b that has been printed before and is stacked on the stacker. A proposal has been made to "receive the incoming sheet a, and after a predetermined time, fold the guide member C and let it fall onto the stacker, thereby ensuring drying and clear weather and eliminating stains caused by rubbing of the sheets a and b." was.

(C) Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, the above-mentioned conventional proposal requires a guide member C that temporarily holds the sheet a on the stacker, and also requires a mechanism to drive this guide member C. There were drawbacks such as increased cost and the size of the sheet a was limited due to its structure.

FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is a recording device;
A paper ejection roller pair consisting of a peel wheel 4 and a rubber roller 5 is provided at a paper ejection port 3 on the upper surface of the main body of the apparatus 2, and a paper ejection tray 6 that is inclined toward the front side of this roller pair is provided. The paper discharge tray 6 is formed in a vertically concave shape with respect to the front side.

(g) As described in detail, according to the present invention, the paper ejection tray is formed in a concave shape with respect to the recording surface of the ejected sheet, and the ejected sheet is ejected in a flat shape. Since the flat sheet does not come into contact with the sheets stacked on the paper ejection tray for a while, the print dries during that time and the recording surface can be prevented from becoming smeared. In addition, since the paper ejection tray is formed in a concave shape, the stacked sheets become concave and stiff, so the length of the paper ejection tray is shortened.
Cost can be reduced.
