Abstract

PURPOSE:To evade temperature rise which is caused by a light source and to prevent abnormal behavior of liquid crystal in a shutter array by using a lamp as a heat source for the heat roller of a fixing part, and guiding light, which the lamp emits, to the liquid crystal shutter array through the use of an optical fiber, and thereby constituting the light source. CONSTITUTION:The lamp 2 is used as the heat source for the heat roller 3, light emitted by the lamp 2 is guided to the optical fiber 1, and the optical fiber 1 is connected to a head part 6. That is, an auxiliary lamp 14 for a warm-up and a main lamp 2, which is always lit during output, are incorporated in the heat roller 3, and the optical fiber 1 for the light source is connected to the main lamp 2. Therefore, warm-up time is shortened by lighting the auxiliary lamp 14 together with the main lamp 2 until the heat roller 3 is heated to a stationary level after the power source of the printer is turned on. Thus, temperature rise which is caused by the light source can be evaded, and abnormal behavior of the liquid crystal in the shutter array can be prevented.

Conventionally, this type of printer has a head unit that integrates a charging unit 8, a head lamp 16, a light shielding unit 15, a shutter array 5, and a lens array 6 around a photosensitive drum 7, as shown in FIG. A developing section 9, a cleaner section 10, and a static eliminator 11 were provided. Recording is performed by transferring the image on the photosensitive drum 7 by feeding the recording paper 12 along the paper feeding direction 13, and transferring the image onto the photosensitive drum 7 between the heat roll 3, which has become high in temperature due to the heat generated by the lamp 2, and the flerasha roller 4, which is pressed against the heat roll 3. The pattern was fixed by heat and pressure when passing through the space.

The above-mentioned conventional electrophotographic printer uses the lamp 2 as a heat source for the heat roller and separately prepares a light source 16 for the head section, which is a very disadvantageous configuration in terms of energy efficiency. There is also a problem in that the heat generated by the light source 16 in the head section adversely affects the behavior of the liquid crystal 5 in the shutter array.

The liquid crystal shutter type electrophotographic printer of the present invention includes a liquid crystal shutter array disposed between a light source and a photosensitive drum, and an electronic device that outputs a pattern based on the amount of light passing through the printer by controlling the amount of passing light by turning on and off the shutter array. In a photographic printer, a lamp such as a halogen bulb is used as a heat source for a heat roller in a fixing section, and the light emitted from the lamp is guided to a shutter array section through an optical fiber to serve as a light source for forming an output pattern.

As shown in Figure 2, the heat roller 3 incorporates an auxiliary lamp 14 for warm-up and a main lamp 2 that is always lit during output, and the optical fiber 1 for the light source is connected to the main lamp 2. has been done. The auxiliary lamp 1 is turned on while the heat roller 3 generates steady heat after the power is turned on to the printer.
4 is lit together with the main lamp 2 to shorten the warm-up time. As shown in FIG. 3, the optical fibers 1 are connected to the head section by arranging each optical fiber in a straight line using the light blocking section 15 as a guide, thereby forming a light source spanning the entire width of the shutter array 5.
