Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for registering a position so long as a mobile equipment is moving in a high in-zone probability area by allowing the mobile equipment to collect the history of the in-zone location for a prescribed period, to make a list of areas with a high in-zone probability for each time based on the effect of learning and introducing an area with the high in-zone probability area of the mobile set. CONSTITUTION:The mobile equipment (Z) 11 recognizes its own in-zone area by receiving a signal sent from each base station and extracting a code specific to each base station. The statistical processing is implemented to the in-zone area every time obtained in such a manner and a list is prepared in which area names are arranged in the order of higher in-zone probability. The prepared list is informed to an exchange station (F) 12, which stores the list to a memory. When it is discriminated that the mobile equipment (Z) 11 exists in the high in-zone probability area while the mobile equipment (Z) 11 receives a control signal from a base station and detects a code inherent in the base station, no position registration is needed.

That is, the present invention creates and updates a list of areas with a high probability of being in each hour based on the base station code received by the mobile device, shares this list between the mobile device and the network, and uses predetermined information. When the mobile device is located in a high probability area obtained from the shared list according to the established algorithm, location registration is stopped, and when the mobile device is located outside the above high probability area, location registration is performed; The network calls mobile devices that have registered their location according to the registration, and calls mobile devices that do not have a location registration sequentially from the areas with a high probability of being in the above-mentioned high probability areas, or simultaneously. This is a location registration method in a mobile communication system in which a call is made in the above-mentioned high probability area.

[Function] According to the present invention, a mobile device aggregates the history of its location over a certain period of time, uses the learning effect thereof to create a list of areas with a high probability of being in each time period, and uses this list with the mobile device. The network shares this list, and from this shared list, an area with a high probability of being located by the mobile device is derived according to a predetermined algorithm, and as long as the mobile device moves within this high probability area, location registration is not required. The difference from the conventional technology is that a list of areas with a high probability of the mobile device being located is created through learning, and location registration is performed only when moving to an area different from the high probability area of the mobile device derived from this list. .

Statistical processing is performed on the area in which the user resides for each time obtained in this way, and a list is created in which area names are arranged in descending order of probability of being in the area. An example of the list is shown in Figure 2.
The same list shows that from time O to 2, the probability of being in area (A) is highest, and the fourth place is area (E).

Since these rankings change over time, a list is created for each time. This list is updated at appropriate intervals for each mobile device, such as once a month. Note that in the list shown in Figure 2, the time periods are divided into two hours, but these do not have to be at equal intervals; rather, during the time when the mobile device user stays in a certain area, the time periods are divided into two hours. It is desirable to avoid the provision of a shock absorber and make it variable according to the user's movements.

Further, in the above description, a case has been described in which a list is created on the mobile device side, but the list may also be created and updated on the base station side. However, in this case, it is necessary for the mobile device to notify the current location information at each time.

The list created as described above is notified to the exchange (F) 12, and the exchange (F) 12 stores the list in its memory. The contents of the lists of the mobile ff1 (Z) 11 and the exchange (F) 12 match. A high probability area is derived from this shared list according to a predetermined algorithm.

In order to derive this area with a high probability of being in the area, the sum of the area restored in the time period including the current time and the area restored in the next time period is defined as the area with a high probability of being in the area, and then the product of both areas is One possible method is to give a higher rank to the set.

However, when the user moves to area (E), location registration is performed because area (E) is not a high probability area. From there, when you return to a high probability area, you will register your location again in the area you returned to. This is to erase the location registration in area (E). From now on, as long as you move within this high probability area, location registration is not necessary.

In the above explanation, the areas in the list shown in Figure 2 are assumed to be areas with a high probability of being in that time period, but in reality, areas do not move regularly at specific times as shown in the list shown in Figure 2. The timing of their movements varies daily.

Therefore, it is necessary to update the list at appropriate intervals. This update period may be changed as appropriate for each subscriber and depending on the movement pattern. For example, the list may be updated when the number of location registrations exceeds a certain value.

Next, when calling the mobile device (Z) 11 from the network when receiving a call, it is first checked to see if the location is registered outside the high probability area. If it is registered, the call will be made in that area. If the location has not been registered outside the high probability area, a call is made to the high probability area.

One method is to call areas in order of probability. In that case, if the mobile device is in the area with lower probability, there will be a delay in calling. If this delay becomes a problem, call the areas on the list for that time period at the same time.
