Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the recording quality by a method wherein the surface of a movable body is dipped in a magnetic fluid, and the magnetic fluid is vibrated to be prevented from adhering on a part of the surface of the movable body on which a magnetic latent image is not formed. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined magnetic patterns are successively written on a magnetic substance layer 11 by a writing head 14, and a magnetic latent image is formed thereon. When a magnetic latent image part is dipped in a magnetic fluid 21 by the rotation of a movable body 13, the magnetic fluid magnetically adheres on the surface of the movable body 13 on which the magnetic latent image is formed, whereby the latent image is developed. Because a magnetic force does not act between a part on which the magnetic latent image is not formed and the magnetic fluid 21, the magnetic fluid does not adhere thereto. The developed pattern of the magnetic fluid adhering to the surface of the movable body 13 is transferred to a recording medium 17 by a transfer roller 18. After the completion of transfer, the magnetic latent image is erased by a demagnetizing head 15. After the completion of demagnetization, a cleaning blade 16 removes the magnetic fluid and the like adhered to the surface of the movable body 13 to clean the surface of the movable body 13.

動体13表面に付着した磁性流体の現像パターンは、転
写ローラ18により記録媒体17に転写される。転写が
終わると、磁気潜像は消磁ヘッド15により消去される
。消磁動作が終了すると、クリーニングブレード16に
より、可動体13表面に付着した磁性流体等が取除かれ
、可動体13表面がクリーニングされる。
