Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve operability and to prevent an error by providing a controller discriminating an input key signal, sound data ROM, a sound generation circuit, a sound off-switch, a speaker and the like. CONSTITUTION:When a certain key block 1 in an electronic calculator is depressed, the controller 4 inputs the signal through a connection cable 10, discriminates the depressed key, reads sound data equivalent to the key from sound data ROM 5 and transfers it to the sound generation circuit 6. The circuit 6 converts sound data from ROM 5 into sound and informs a user of it through the speaker 8 or an earphone. When sound is unnecessary and when it is inconvenient for other persons to listen in owing to business talk, the sound switch 7 can be turned off or an earphone jack 9 used and the other person is prevented from hearing by cutting off the sound or by the earphone. Furthermore, a calculation result is transferred from ROM 5 to the circuit 6 and output is attained by sound with a display part 3. Thus, the operability of the electronic calculator can be improved and the error can be prevented.

<Prior Art> Calculators have long since replaced the abacus, and now it is easy to find two or three calculators in each household. A wide variety of products have been commercialized, ranging from program calculators that can perform complex scientific and technical calculations to compact card calculators. However, even though there are many products with high functionality and colorful designs, there may still be a problem in terms of basic usability.

<The gap that invention is trying to solve> I think the abacus is a very excellent calculator in terms of calculation speed and ease of use, but it is not something that can be used even once.
It takes a long time and money to learn it (compared to abacus juku, etc.)
You have to multiply, practice or learn, whereas a calculator
Anyone who knows mathematics at an elementary school level can handle it. It has the following characteristics. However, it is easy to make mistakes, and this is probably its biggest drawback. Although it is easy to make mistakes, it is not that the calculator itself makes calculation errors, but that the person using it is likely to make operational errors. When ordinary people calculate using a calculator, they often press the wrong key or enter the wrong digit. It often happens that you press the next number key but don't notice it, or you continue calculating with a wrong digit, and it's not until you check the calculation that you realize you've made a mistake.

Why do mistakes happen? When using an abacus or a calculator, you flick a ball and press a key with your fingertips, but ordinary people do this while looking at their fingertips. With an abacus, the balls you play represent numbers, so if you make a mistake, you can easily spot it and correct it on the spot. On a calculator, there is a distance between the keys and the display, so you can check whether you pressed the key correctly or not.
[In order to confirm, you have to move your point of view, which makes it difficult to spot mistakes, and if you check the details while calculating, the speed of calculation will slow down and you will get tired easily.

Measures to Solve Problems〉 The reason why it is easy to make mistakes when using a calculator is because it is difficult to immediately check which keys have been pressed. In that case, every time a key is pressed, it would be better to notify the user of the pressed key by voice. The reason for the voice is, of course, if it could be confirmed visually, the purpose could still be achieved. In order to reduce the movement of the viewpoint, the display part must be placed very close to the keys, which makes the IA sloppy both in terms of design and functionality, and even makes it difficult to use, even if it is for audio. Since the design of the calculator itself can be used as is, the user will feel little discomfort.

Next, let us explain the present invention in detail based on the drawings. (Figure 1) shows the basic circuit configuration of the present invention, the part surrounded by the six-dot line, which is the circuit configuration of a normal calculator. , the present invention includes a controller 4, an audio data ROM (Read On

It consists of an F switch 7, a speaker 8, and an earphone jack 9. The main body of the calculator is connected to the controller 4 via a connection cable 10 with the number 18 from the keep lock 1 or the number 18 sent to the display section 3 in parallel with the calculation section 2. Now, if a certain key in the keylock 1 is pressed, the controller 4 determines what key was pressed and outputs the audio data corresponding to that key.
The audio generating circuit 6 reads the audio data from the audio data ROM 5 and passes it to the audio generating circuit 6. The audio generating circuit 6 converts the audio data from the audio data ROM 5 into audio and notifies the user through the speaker 8 or earphone.

In addition, the audio off switch 7 and earphone jack 9 can be used to turn off the audio or use earphones to prevent others from listening when audio is not required or when you do not want others to hear it, such as during a business meeting. You can also make it look like this.

<Embodiment> As described above, the present invention can be realized by simply adding and incorporating a controller, a voice data ROM, a voice generating device such as a voice generating circuit into an existing calculator. It is also possible to separately assemble a sound generator and use it as an adapter for a calculator. Recently, many card-sized calculators have been commercialized in order to make them smaller.Incorporating the above-mentioned sound generator into these card-sized calculators has limitations due to physical components such as speakers. However, it would be more convenient to carry it around if it were to be housed in a separate case, or if it could be used as an adapter by connecting it to the calculator when needed.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, the present invention has been devised to make the calculator easier to use and to prevent mistakes while retaining many of the features of the calculator.
