Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the black plated steel sheet excellent in appearance, workability and corrosion resistance by successively forming a black chemical conversion coating film, an applied chromate film and a resin film having specified content of black pigment and thickness on a galvanized steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The first layer of black film is provided on a galvanized steel sheet and a zinc-based alloy plated steel sheet by chemical conversion treatment. The treatment is carried out by dipping the sheet in a liq. mixture of acid an an oxidizing agent. The second layer of an applied chromate film excellent in corrosion resistance is provided on the first layer to strengthen the first layer and to improve the adhesion of the third layer. The chromate film is obtained by applying a soln. of chromic acid and a silicate compd. and drying the soln., and the chromium content of the film is appropriately controlled to about 0.01-1 g/m<2>. The third layer of resin film contg. 2-10 wt.% black pig ment is formed on the second layer in 1-7mum thickness. Epoxy and polyester resins, etc., are used as the resin. Consequently, a black plated steel sheet with its uniform, stabilized and beautiful black appearance not damaged even after working, excellent in corrosion resistance and without being rusted is obtained.

However, when blackening by the above-mentioned methods (■ to ■), it is difficult to obtain a stable black film in a short time, and unevenness tends to occur in the black appearance. Excellent workability is required since processing is performed after oxidation.

However, the black film produced by methods ① to ② has poor abrasion resistance and is an extremely thin film with low ductility.
Due to the processing, it is very easily scratched and the black appearance is significantly impaired. Furthermore, rust develops from the scratched areas, producing white corrosion products, which impairs the beautiful black appearance. Further, according to method (2), since it is necessary to hide the base color, a coating film thickness of 15 μm or more is usually required, and there are problems such as an increase in coating costs.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] As explained above, the present invention has been made in view of the various problems with conventional black-plated steel sheets, and as a result of intensive research and repeated consideration, the present invention has developed a uniform and stable steel sheet. It has a black appearance and remains beautiful even after processing.
Furthermore, they developed a black-plated steel sheet that has excellent corrosion resistance and is low cost.

This coating itself is a black coating, and in combination with the first layer of black chemical conversion coating, provides a uniform and stable black appearance. It also protects the black chemical conversion coating,
In particular, it has the effect of preventing whitening after processing, improving black appearance, and improving corrosion resistance.

The resins used for this paint are solvent-diluted types such as epoxy, polyester, acrylic, melamine, urethane, and silicone, or acrylic-styrene, epoxy ester, acrylic, urethane, and polyacetic acid. Aqueous emulsion types such as vinyl, boethylene, and ethylene vinyl acetate may be selected. However, when a water-based emulsion type paint becomes thick, it is difficult to dry and harden it in a short period of time, so it is advantageous to use a solvent diluted type paint.

Further, as the black pigment, it is preferable to use carbon black, but it is not particularly limited. If the content of this black pigment is less than 2wt%, the hiding power will be poor and the degree of blackness will decrease, making it impossible to achieve the purpose. If the content exceeds 10wt%, the dispersion of the pigment in the paint will become unstable. hand,
It tends to agglomerate, making it difficult to apply a thin and uniform coating.

Furthermore, when an anti-rust pigment is added as an extender pigment, the corrosion resistance is further improved. In addition, it is also possible to use various additives depending on the purpose.

If the thickness of the resin film is less than 1 μm, the blackness will be insufficient, and the effect of protecting the underlying film will be small, making it impossible to achieve the purpose. If the thickness exceeds 7 μm, this effect will be saturated, making it economically difficult. It's a waste of time.
