DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a method for binding sheets after an image has been formed by an image forming apparatus such as an electrostatographic copying machine or a printer. [Prior Art] For example, as means for binding sheets after image formation by a copying machine, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 49-133039 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6
As seen in Japanese Patent No. 2-98371, a toner image for paper adhesion is formed on one side edge of the paper, a plurality of sheets of paper are overlapped, and the toner of the toner image for paper adhesion is heated and softened. There is a bookbinding means for adhering one side edges of the plurality of sheets to each other by pressing them together. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] Conventionally, in these bookbinding means, the toner pattern for paper adhesion was formed using the toner itself for forming iiia, which caused the following disadvantages. That is, when binding the paper after forming the image pattern, when the toner of the toner pattern for bonding the paper is heated and softened, the toner of the toner pattern forming the pattern near the toner pattern for bonding the paper is thermally softened. In addition, the toner that forms the core image may bleed, or the toner that forms the image may soften and become soft due to the influence of pressure. There was an inconvenience that the parts were glued together. Furthermore, if we look only at the bound paper, the toner image for paper adhesion is superfluous, and the image is generally formed with black toner, so this unnecessary toner image for paper adhesion is unnecessary. This also caused the inconvenience that the binding part looked dirty. The present invention aims to provide a method for achieving good-looking bookbinding without the above-mentioned disadvantages. [Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the present invention overlaps a plurality of sheets of paper which have been formed with a toner pattern for bonding the paper on one side edge. , in a bookbinding method in which green portions of one side of the plurality of sheets of paper are adhered to each other by heating and softening the toner of the paper adhesive toner image, the paper adhesive toner image is lower than the toner for image formation. It is distinctive in that it is made of light-colored toner that softens with temperature. [Operation] According to the above method, by softening the toner of the toner image for paper adhesion at a temperature lower than the softening point of the toner forming the image, there is no adverse effect on the toner forming the image. Bookbinding is achieved without any damage. Furthermore, since the toner for bonding paper for bookbinding is light-colored, the toner image for bonding paper is hardly noticeable as dirt. [Example] Hereinafter, an example of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. FIG. 1 shows an electrophotographic copying machine as an example of a composite image forming apparatus, in which a photoreceptor 4 is placed horizontally on a device case 3 equipped with an original placing table 1 and an original presser 2, and around this photoreceptor 4, Obi 11v
tf 5, two developing devices 6a containing toners of different colors. 6b, a transfer device 7, a sheet M device 8, and a cleaning device 9 are disposed, and an exposure device 10 with a moving optical system is disposed in the upper space of the device case 3, and a paper feed tray 11a or a paper feed cassette is disposed. Yogi a housed in Hlb
a first conveying device 12 that conveys the transferred and separated sheet a to the transfer device 7; a first conveying device 14 that conveys the sheet a after transfer and separation to the fixing device 13; and a first conveying device 14 that conveys the sheet a after the fixing to the stray paper tray 15. A pair of wandering paper rollers 16 is provided. Further, a refeeding section l7 having a double feeding prevention function is provided in the lower space of the device case 3, and a switch bank mechanism for selectively discharging the post-fixed sheet a to the refeeding section 17. 18 are arranged in series on the downstream side of the fixing device l3, and a conveying device l9 is provided for feeding the paper a stored in the paper refeeding section 17 to the paper feeding and conveying device l2, By changing the conveyance path by the path switching mechanism 20, the sheet a with the image formed on one side of the original is taken out to the tray l5. 17 and re-feeding to the transfer device 7, a monochrome double-sided image format using toner of a single color or two different colors can be selected. In the electrostatographic copying machine having the above structure, one developing device 6B stores toner for copying formation of a desired color, and the other developing device 6b contains toner that is softened at a lower temperature than the toner for image formation. Contains light-colored (white, cream, etc.) paper adhesive toner, and
By specifically forming an image using the toner for bonding the paper on one side edge of the sheet a, a monochromatic image using the toner for image formation is formed on one side or both sides. You can get Gia. That is, the image of the original is formed on one side of the paper sheet a using the toner stored in the one developing device 6a, the paper a is stocked in the paper refeeding device 17, and the one side is At the same time, the paper a on which the image has been formed is re-fed, and one edge of the paper a on the downstream side (or upstream side) in the feeding direction of the paper a to be re-fed is connected to the other developing device 6b. By forming a high-density toner image using the stored paper adhesive toner, image forming paper for bookbinding (No. (See Figure 2) A can be obtained. Alternatively, after forming monochromatic toner images on both sides of paper a, a toner image for paper adhesion is formed on the edge of the paper a on the downstream side (or upstream side) in the paper feeding direction. It is possible to obtain an image forming sheet a for bookbinding in which a monochromatic image pattern having a toner pattern b for paper adhesion in the adhesive portion is formed on both sides. In the above embodiment, a copying machine capable of forming double-sided images was used to create an image forming plate for bookbinding, but as shown in FIG. The paper is taken out to the reversing path 22 via the mechanism 21, the paper is reversed and stocked in the re-feeding section l7, and the paper is re-fed to the transfer device 7 at a predetermined timing. Targeting a copying machine that has an image copy forming function, by storing toner for bonding paper in one of its developing devices, a toner image B for bonding the paper is created on an example edge of the side of the image copy forming function. It is also possible to obtain image-formed precept paper a for bookbinding. In these types of copying machines, first, one side edge of the
Even if a procedure is followed in which a toner pattern for adhesion is formed on the paper and a document image pattern is formed on one side (or both sides) of the sheet a, N pattern forming paper a for bookbinding in the same manner as described above can be obtained. In addition, as shown in Fig. 4, paper can be bonded to one of the developing devices of a copying machine that has an image forming function by selecting one of the plurality of copying devices M6a, 6b. At the same time, in an image forming process, a toner image b for paper adhesion is formed on a part of the front end side or rear end side of the image forming area with respect to the photoreceptor 4. Image forming paper a for bookbinding in the same manner as described above can also be obtained by forming a toner image b for paper adhesion on one side edge of the image forming surface simultaneously with the formation of image forming paper a. In Figures 3 and 4, structural parts having the same functions as those shown in Figure 1 are given the same reference numerals and their explanations are omitted. paper a
are superimposed, and the area where the toner image b for bonding the paper is formed is heated by means such as heating disclosed in JP-A-49-133039 and JP-A-62-98371, for example. It is. This heating temperature is set higher than the softening temperature of the toner for bonding the paper and lower than the softening temperature of the toner for forming the image,
As a result of this heating, only the toner of the paper adhesive toner copy b is softened, and the softened toner is then cooled and solidified by an arbitrary means, so that the plurality of sheets can be used after the image formation. a is bound together. Here, as the toner forming the paper adhesive toner image b, a toner having a light color that softens at a lower temperature than the image forming toner is selected. When the toner of image b is heated and softened, the toner forming the image is not affected by the heat, and the toner forming the image near the paper adhesive toner image b is smeared. This method does not involve the inconvenience of causing paper a to adhere by softening the toner forming the image pattern, and the toner for adhering the paper is of a light color such as white or cream color. , the toner image b for paper adhesion does not stand out as dirt. Note that if the paper adhesive toner image b is formed on all of the paper sheets a to be bound, the paper adhesive toner image b that is unnecessary for bookbinding will exist on either the front or back side of the paper sheet a in the bookbinding state. Therefore, if there is a concern that dust, paper, etc. may adhere to the paper adhesive toner 1b, which is softened immediately after bookbinding,
Control is performed so that the paper adhesive toner image b is not created on the paper a. When forming the paper adhesive toner image b on the back side of the paper a, the paper a on which the image is finally formed is to prevent the toner image b for paper adhesion from being imprinted on the paper,
When forming the paper adhesive toner 1b on the front side of the paper a, it is only necessary to perform control such that the paper adhesive toner image b is not formed on the image a on which the image is first formed. Further, the toner image b for adhering to paper does not need to drive the exposure device 1O with a moving optical system, and the charging device 5 and the copying device 6a. 6b, transfer device 7 and paper separation device i1F
An image can be created by driving g. [Effects of the Invention] As explained above, the bookbinding method according to the present invention is characterized in that a toner image for adhering to paper is formed using a light-colored toner that softens at a lower temperature than the toner for image formation. By selecting a toner with such properties, we were able to achieve a good-looking bookbinding that does not have any adverse thermal effects on the toner that forms the image, and does not make the toner image used for paper adhesion stand out as dirt. It has come to this.
