Abstract

PURPOSE:To input data in ROMAJI (a method of writing Japanese in Roman characters) even in a device where an operator is forced to input data with KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters by independently constituting an input signal converting function as firmware and connecting it as an input signal converter between a keyboard and a computer main body. CONSTITUTION:The input signal outputted from the keyboard passes an input part 1 and a switch 2a out of switches 2a and 2b interlocking each other and is inputted to an input signal converter 3 for conversion from ROMAJI (or KANA characters) to KANA characters (or ROMAJI) and is converted to a required signal, and this signal passes the switch 2b and is inputted to a computer main body by an output part. The input signal may pass a by-pass circuit 7 to directly reach an output part 4. Thus, the operator is not forced to input data with KANA characters and can input data in ROMAJI.

The conventional input signal converter mentioned above only inputs signals corresponding to individual keys on the keyboard into the computer, and character conversion relies on software built into the computer. Some of them do not have a conversion function, so you are forced to use a convenient input signal on the computer side.
If the software built into your computer does not have a character conversion function, you will be forced to input kana characters.
The disadvantage is that it is inconvenient.

An input signal output from the keyboard passes through the input unit 1, passes through the switch 2a of the switches 2a and 2b that operate in conjunction with each other, and is input to the input signal converter 3, where it is converted into a required signal and then sent to the switch 2). After that, it is input to the computer main body by the output section.
