Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce polishing flaws of the polished stainless steel sheet by performing a light rolling reduction by a specified draft between the polishing stage and washing stage. CONSTITUTION:The stainless steel sheet is rewound from a pay off reel 1, and polished by a polishing belt 4 on billy rolls 3. Then, passing through wringer rolls 5, while spraying through spray nozzles 10, brushing is performed by brushing rolls 7, dried by drier 8 and taken up by a tension reel 9. Here, the light rolling reduction is performed by light rolling rolls 6 in the range of the draft by 0.1-3.0% between the polishing stage through the polishing belts 4 and the washing stage through the spray nozzles 10. By this method, the polishing flaws of the polished stainless steel sheet are reduced remarkably.

[Prior Art] A known method for manufacturing polished stainless steel sheets is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 168907/1983. This is done by surface polishing after cold rolling, followed by annealing and pickling.
Then, if necessary, temper rolling is performed to form a fine and uniformly polished surface. The effect of this invention is that scale is generated on the surface of a very sharp abrasive stone formed by a belt etc. by annealing, and then the scale is removed by pickling. As it falls off or dissolves and becomes lower, the abrasive stone becomes smoother, resulting in a fine and uniform abrasive surface when viewed from a macroscopic perspective.

However, as stated in the specification, the polished stainless steel sheet produced through the process of cold rolling → polishing → annealing → pickling → temper rolling has a surface that is not polished like a conventional polished surface. The problem is that the metallic color is not strong and the appearance is soft.

A system diagram of a conventional polishing and cleaning apparatus is shown in FIG. 2. A stainless steel plate is rewound from a payoff reel l and guided to a deflector roll 2, and is polished by a polishing belt 4 on a billy roll 3. Next, it passes through a ringer roll 5, is sprayed from a spray nozzle 10, and is brushed with a brush roll 7, dried with a dryer 8, and wound up on a tension reel 9.

The finished surface of a polished stainless steel plate is determined by JIS. For example, No. 0, 3 finish is a 2B or 2D plate that has been softened and annealed and polished with an abrasive of No. 100 to 120, and No. 4 finish is the same. It was polished with abrasives number 350-180.

[Problem to be Solved by the Invention J] When a polished stainless steel plate is cold-rolled and then polished, then annealed and pickled, the color tone of one surface changes greatly from that of conventional products. For this reason, coarsening the abrasive material improves the soft appearance to some extent, but the metallic color does not appear as with conventional products.

In order to obtain a stainless steel plate with the surface finish specified by JIS, it is necessary to perform a polishing finish in the final process to produce a metallic luster.

At this time, on the surface of the polished steel plate, there are countless polishing scum in the form of very sharp steel pieces. When this polished steel sheet comes into contact with a priddle roll, skin bath roll, leveling roll, etc., the polishing scum adheres to the roll surface and is pushed into the steel sheet, resulting in indentation flaws.

However, the abrasive scum that adheres to each roll can be removed from the roll surface extremely easily by washing with water, and the abrasive scum surface adhesion rate, that is, the ratio of how much abrasive scum adheres to the roll surface, is higher on the Pridle roll than on the Deflect roll. Furthermore, it was found that rolling rolls are larger than bride rolls.6 In other words, the greater the degree of working on the abrasive surface, the more the abrasive scum separates from the abrasive surface, and It sticks to the surface.

Based on the above knowledge, the rolling roll is installed in a cleaning tank for degreasing that is attached to the polishing process, and light rolling is performed here to peel off the polishing scum, and then the rolling roll and the polished surface are cleaned. It was found that by removing abrasive scum, it is possible to prevent roll flaws caused by adhesion of abrasive scum on the priddle rolls, leveler rolls, etc. that are subsequently passed through.
It is an object of the present invention to provide such a novel method and apparatus.

After the roll surface and Fffff surface after rolling are cleaned, the product is wound onto a tension reel. In contrast to the prior art, JP-A-56-168907, in which annealing and pickling were performed after polishing, the present invention is characterized in that a light rolling process is provided after the polishing process as a countermeasure against indentation scratches. It is something that exists.

The rolling reduction ratio in the light rolling step is preferably 0.1 to 3.0%. If the rolling reduction is less than 0.1%, the effect of removing abrasive scum will not be sufficient, while if the rolling reduction exceeds 3.0%, there will be no difference in the effect, and on the contrary, the disadvantage of wear of the rolling rolls will increase.

In addition, the polished surface is cleaned with the same spray solution, and
I did some brushing. After that, it was washed with water using a brush and spray, dried with a dryer, and wound up on a tension reel. Figure 3 shows the relationship between the rolling reduction and the indentation flaw occurrence rate of the light rolling mill. The number of polishing scum intrusion defects that occur after this polishing process has been reduced to 1/4 of the conventional level.
