Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid a fault of reception of a video image sent from an opposite set by turning on a power supply section automatically if the power supply section detecting a voice signal, video signal switching signal is turned off, applying video signal reception processing and displaying the result on a video display section. CONSTITUTION:When the operation is started, a controller 20 checks whether or not a power supply operation button 18 is depressed, As a result, when the button 18 is depressed, the power supply section 17 is turned on. If no button is depressed and a voice signal, video signal switching signal is detected, whether or not the power supply section 17 is turned on is checked. When the power supply section 17 is turned off, the power supply section 17 is immediately turned on, the received video signal is brought into the display enable state and the voice signal, video signal changeover switch 7 is thrown to the position of video image, and the video signal subject to video signal demodulation 12 is stored in a video memory 14 and it is displayed on the video display section. When the power operating button 18 is depressed, the power supply section 17 is turned off.

In the figure, 1 is a video input section composed of a CCD (charge-coupled device), an image pickup tube, etc., 2 is a video display section composed of a CRT (cathode ray tube), a liquid crystal display panel, etc., 3 is the main body of the device, and 4 is a video an image sending button that is operated when sending the image captured by the input unit 1 to the other party via the telephone line;
Reference numeral 18 denotes a power operation button for turning on and off the power of the video communication section 16, which will be described later. FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing a specific circuit configuration of the conventional example. In the figure, 5 is a telephone line, 6 is a line interface section, and 7 is a voice side (A) indicating the flow of signals arriving through the telephone line. An audio signal/video signal changeover switch that switches to the video side (B), and 8 is a signal sent from the other party via the telephone line when the audio signal/video signal changeover switch is connected to the audio side (A). This is a video signal discriminator that detects whether or not there is a video signal in the video signal, and when there is a video signal, it sends out a video signal detection signal indicating that. 9 is an audio output section such as a speaker, 10 is an audio input section such as a microphone, 11 is a video signal modulation section that modulates the video signal taken in by the video input section 1 into a signal that can be transmitted over a telephone line, and 12 is an audio input section such as a microphone. A video signal demodulation unit demodulates a modulated video signal sent via a telephone line; 13 and 14 are a first video memory and a second video memory, respectively; 15 is the audio output unit 9 and the audio input 16 is a video communication section comprised of the video signal modulation section 11, the video signal demodulation section 12, the first video memory 13, and the second video memory 14, and 17 is the This is a power supply unit that supplies power to the video communication unit 16. Reference numeral 19 denotes a control means, which is composed of a microcomputer, and controls the operations of the audio signal/video signal changeover switch 7 and the video communication section 16 described above. That is, when the image sending button 4 is operated, it is recognized and the audio signal/video signal changeover switch 7 is controlled to be switched from the audio side (A) to the video side (B), and the video signal discrimination is performed. When the unit 8 outputs that a video signal has been detected, control is performed to switch the audio signal/video signal changeover switch 7 from the audio side (A) to the video side (B).

First, when the operation is started, the control means 20 checks whether the power operation button 18 has been pressed (step a), and if it has been pressed, turns on the power supply section 17 (step b). If it is not pressed, proceed to step C, and if an audio signal/video signal switching signal is detected, check whether the power supply unit 17 is already on (step d). If it is off, immediately turn it on (step d). After performing step e>, the received video signal can be displayed, and then the audio signal/video signal changeover switch 7 is switched to the video side (B), and the video signal demodulated by the video signal demodulator 12 is transferred to the second video memory 14. It performs video signal reception processing to store it in the video display section 2 and display it on the video display section 2 (step f). It is checked again whether the power operation button 18 is pressed (step g), and if it is pressed, the power supply section 17 is turned off. Then step h) ends the operation, and if not pressed, proceeds to step a and continues the series of operations.
