Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain smooth carriage movement and reading with high resolution by forming a placing face of an original platen and a guide recessed part for carriage movement with an integrated rail. CONSTITUTION:The original placing plate 3 is fixed to a placing face 2b of a rail 21, a roller 6 turnable around a shaft implanted to a carriage 1 and arranged to a carriage moving guide slot 2a of the rail 21. The roller 6 is energized to a rail support 6a by a dish spring 7. The movement of the carriage 1 in the direction of the arrow B is restricted by the energizing force. Through the simple constitution above, the smooth movement of the carriage is obtained, an original is read with higher resolution and maintenance/assembly is facilitat ed.

FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the main parts of a conventional document reading device. In FIG. 6, a carriage 101 equipped with an optical system for forming an image of a document has both ends fixed to a main body 105, and a fixed guide shaft 102. Drive along the axis in the direction of arrow A (not shown),
It is movably held by moving means. A transparent original platen 103 is fixed to a part of the main body 105,
The reading surface of the original 104 is set on the original mounting table surface 103a, and the carriage 101 reads the original 104 while moving in the direction of arrow A. At this time, generally, as the reading resolution increases, the imaging system of the optical system increases. Distance accuracy, that is, focus accuracy becomes stricter, and although not shown, the parallelism between the optical sensor surface disposed in the carriage 101 and the document mounting table surface 103a and the focus accuracy become important. However, the fixed position of the guide shaft 102, which pivotally supports the carriage 101, and the fixed position of the original platen 103 are completely different from each other.

However, in the configuration of a conventional document reading device, the document surface 1
03a and the carriage 101 carrying the optical system is determined by the arrangement precision of the main body 105 between the guide shaft 102 and the original platen 103. Since it is arranged separately from the receiving surface of the stand 103, it is difficult to obtain the above-mentioned focus accuracy, and this has a big impact on performance, as there is a recent technological trend toward higher reading resolution. I had an issue.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings. 1 and 2 are sectional views of main parts of the carriage moving structure of the document reading device of the present invention. In FIG.
The roller 6 is fixed to the original plate receiving surface 2b of the rail 21, and is rotatably attached to a shaft embedded in the carriage l.
Place it at a. The spring 7 urges the roller 6 toward the main body rail support portion 5a. This biasing force restrains the movement of the carriage 1 in the direction of arrow B. Figure 2 is a diagram showing the other end of the carriage 1 shown in Figure 1.
In the figure, the roller 6, which is rotatably attached to a shaft embedded in the carriage 1, is not biased by a counter spring as shown in FIG. 1, and is configured to hold the carriage 1 in a movable state in the direction of arrow C. . In this state, although not shown in the drawings, the carriage 1 reads the document while moving in the vertical direction of the drawing by means of a carriage moving means.

Now, the concave portion 2a of the rail 21 and the roller 6 are arranged on their respective slopes to move the carriage 1 in the direction of arrow B in FIG.
The position of the carriage is determined, which means that there is no meandering when the carriage moves, and good carriage drive can be obtained. Moreover, even if there is a slight deviation in the positional relationship between the rail 21 shown in FIG. 1 and the rail 22 shown in FIG. and the four parts 2a are integrated, so that the original surface and the carriage 1
Focus accuracy can be ensured without losing focus.

Furthermore, the carriage 1 can be moved without wrinkling by the movable roller 6 in the direction of arrow C shown in FIG. Furthermore, the straightness of the rail 21.22 in the longitudinal direction, the shape accuracy of the four parts 2a, and the parallelism between the recess 2a and the original plate receiving surface 2b are determined by molding the rail 21.22 with an aluminum mold extruder. High accuracy can be guaranteed by this configuration.

FIG. 3 is a diagram of the rail fixing and supporting structure of the present invention. In FIG. 3, the rail 21 is fitted into a rail support portion 5a that stands up from the main body 5. The upper case 8 has a structure in which it is fixed to the main body while enclosing a carriage and the like using screws or the like. When the upper case 8 is removed in the direction of the arrow E, the ends of the rails 21 become open, and in this state, the above-mentioned carriage can be attached from the direction of the arrow. Furthermore, since the carriage can be easily removed by reversing this procedure, maintenance of the optical system can be easily performed and ease of assembly can be improved.

4 and 5 are views showing other specific examples of the present invention. In FIG. 4, the portion 3a that guides carriage movement is formed into a convex shape, and the roller 61 is made to follow the shape of the convex portion 3a. The same effect as described above can also be obtained. Further, the roller 61 is rotatably attached to a shaft installed in the carriage 1, but even if it becomes unable to rotate, as long as the roller 61 and the convex portion 3a are in a slidable state, the function will be improved. There is no problem with this, and exactly the same effect can be obtained. FIG. 5 shows a configuration in which the rollers described above are configured to function as wheels. In FIG. 5, the rollers 62 are rotatably attached to both ends of the carriage 11 as described above. The carriage 11 is biased by the elasticity of a compression spring 71 at one end of the carriage 11 via the roller 62 toward the reference rail 32 in the direction of arrow F. Further, the same effect can be obtained even if the above-mentioned rail is constructed from a sheet metal stamping material such as a thin plate.
