第１図ないし第３図は本考案の一実施例による
衝撃吸収式ステアリング装置を説明するための図
であり、第１図はその断面側面図、第２図はその
第２エネルギ吸収手段の拡大図、第３図は該実施
例のエネルギ吸収特性を示す特性図、第４図、第
５図は従来装置のエネルギ吸収特性を説明するた
めの特性図である。 図において、１は衝撃吸収式ステアリング装置
、２はステアリングシヤフト、３はコラムチユー
ブ、４はアツパチユーブ、５はロアチユーブ、６
は車体、１２は第１エネルギ吸収手段、１５は第
２エネルギ吸収手段、１７は金属製パイプ（第３
エネルギ吸収手段）、１７ａは下フランジ部（金
属製パイプの一端）、１７ｂは上フランジ部（金
属製パイプの他端）、Ｆ１＋Ｆ２は第１荷重レベ
ル、Ｆ３は第２荷重レベル、Ｆ３＋Ｆ４は第３荷
重レベルである。

Claims (1)

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 伸縮可能に構成されたアツパチユーブとロアチ
    ユーブとからなるコラムチユーブ内にステアリン
    グシヤフトを挿入して該シヤフトを軸支し、上記
    アツパチユーブをステアリングシヤフトとともに
    前進可能に構成し、該アツパチユーブの前進によ
    りステアリングホイルへの衝撃を第１荷重レベル
    で吸収する第１エネルギ吸収手段を設け、上記ア
    ツパチユーブとロアチユーブとの間に、上記衝撃
    を第１荷重レベルより低い第２荷重レベルで吸収
    する第２エネルギ吸収手段を設けた衝撃吸収式ス
    テアリング装置において、上記ロアチユーブに金
    属製パイプを装着し、該チユーブの一端を車体に
    介して固定するともに、他端を上記アツパチユー
    ブと所定間隔を開けて対向させてなり、上記第１
    エネルギ吸収手段が作動した後で、かつ上記第２
    エネルギ吸収手段の作動中に、上記金属製パイプ
    が圧縮されることにより、上記衝撃を上記第２エ
    ネルギ吸収手段とで上記第１、第２荷重レベル間
    の第３荷重レベルで吸収する第３エネルギ吸収手
    段を設けたことを特徴とする衝撃吸収式ステアリ
    ング装置。
