取り手段からの読み取り情報に基づき原稿上における画
像の有無をその走査方向に対し時系列的に記憶し、該原
稿に対する未定着現像像が該定着手段の定着位置に達す
る時にのみ該定着手段への通電を行なう制御手段を有す
ることを特徴とする画像形成装置。 2 原稿上の画像情報を読み取る画像情報読み取り手段
と、画像の読み取り領域を指定する領域指定手段と、該
領域指定手段により領域指定されて読み取った該画像情
報読み取り手段からの読み取り情報に基づき像担持体上
に露光手段を介して形成された潜像を顕像化する現像手
段と、該像担持体上の現像像を転写した転写材を加熱加
圧することで未定着現像像を加熱溶融して転写材に定着
させるパルス通電加熱方式の定着手段とを備えた画像形
成装置において、該領域指定手段で指定した画像読み取
り領域情報に基づき、転写材が該定着手段の定着位置を
通過する際、該指定領域に対応する領域が通過する時に
のみ該定着手段への通電を行なう制御手段を有すること
を特徴とする画像形成装置。
