Generally, electronic blood pressure monitors use a manual pressurization device (such as a rubber bulb) to force air into a cuff worn on the upper arm to a pressure higher than the predicted systolic blood pressure, and then use a metered-dose exhaust valve. When the pressure inside the cuff gradually decreases and the cuff pressure reaches a value equal to the systolic blood pressure value, the microphone inside the cuff starts to detect the K sound (Korotkoff sound), and the pressure inside the cuff further decreases, causing the diastolic blood pressure to decrease. When the value falls below this value, the detected K sound disappears. This is how blood pressure is measured.

In conventional electronic blood pressure monitors, if the pressure applied by the manual pressurization device does not reach the systolic blood pressure value, blood pressure cannot be measured correctly, so a special symbol is displayed on the display to notify the user of this fact. However, even if this lack of pressurization is detected, the next value at which the pressure should be increased again to the specified pressure is not clear, so it is possible to increase the pressure too much unnecessarily.
There were drawbacks such as the fact that the repressurization was too small and insufficient pressurization was repeated many times. In other words, if the initial pressurization was insufficient, the cuff internal pressure has decreased between the time the pressurization is stopped and the re-compression is started, and the pressure should be increased again to the specified pressure next time. Because the value is unknown, even if the pressure is applied again, the pressure inside the cuff may increase only to the value at the time of the initial pressure, and the pressure may have to be repeated many times, or vice versa. The drawback was that it could be too much and cause pain.

In order to eliminate such drawbacks, the present invention determines an appropriate pressure increase target value to be increased next when insufficient pressurization is detected, and notifies that the pressure will be re-pressurized to this pressure increase target value. The present invention aims to provide an electronic blood pressure monitor that does this.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Reference numeral 1 denotes a pressurizing device consisting of a manually operated rubber bulb, which pumps air to a cuff 3 through a rubber tube 2. A quantitative exhaust valve 4 and a rapid exhaust valve 5 are connected to the rubber tube 2 for exhausting the air in the cuff 3. Reference numeral 6 denotes a pressure transducer connected to a suitable position of the rubber tube 2, and is connected to a pressure increase target value storage device 7 consisting of a microcomputer. As shown in FIG. 2, this boost target value storage device 7 is comprised of an arithmetic logic section 8, a register 9, and a boost target value storage circuit 10, and includes pressure from the pressure transducer 6 and the arm cuff 3.
A microphone signal 11 from a microphone (not shown) attached to the pressurizer is calculated and a pressure value is stored, and when pressurization is insufficient, a value obtained by adding a predetermined constant value to that value is stored as a new pressurization target value. It is configured.

The operation of the electronic sphygmomanometer configured in this way will be described by manually operating the pressurizing device 1 made of a rubber bulb to forcefully send air to the cuff 3 through the rubber tube 2 to pressurize it. However, when the pressurization is stopped,
The pressure value at that time (pressure peak value) is transferred to the pressure transducer 6.
The target value is stored in the storage circuit 10 of the boost target value storage device 7 which is made up of a microcomputer. After this, if a K sound is detected immediately after starting blood pressure measurement, it is determined that the pressurization by the pressurization device 1 is insufficient,
Insufficient pressurization is displayed on the switch unit/notification device 13, and if necessary, the insufficient pressurization detection/re-pressurization completion notification device 12 issues a buzzer to notify the insufficiency of pressurization. Furthermore, in the pressure value (pressurization peak value) stored in the pressurization target value storage device 7,
The value obtained by adding a predetermined constant value is stored in the boost target value storage device 7 as a new boost target value.

Next, the pressure inside the cuff 3 is increased again by the pressurizing device 1, and when the value reaches the pressurization target value newly stored in the pressurization target value storage device 7, the pressure inside the arm cuff 3 is increased. At the same time as the display indicating insufficient pressurization is erased, the insufficient pressurization detection and re-boosting completion notification device 12 issues a notification using a buzzer.

A specific example of actual use of the electronic blood pressure monitor described above will be described. First, assume that a certain subject's systolic blood pressure value is 144 mmHg. If the pressure inside the cuff 3 is increased to 120 mmHg by the initial pressurization and the pressurization is stopped, the pressure is insufficient.
The switch section/notification device 13 displays a message indicating that there is insufficient pressurization, and the insufficient pressurization detection/re-pressurization completion notification device 12 uses a buzzer to notify the insufficient pressurization. Furthermore, a predetermined pressure (e.g. 40mmHg) above 120mmHg
160 mmHg is stored in the pressurization target value storage device 7 as a new pressurization target value. Next, when the person to be measured pressurizes again and the pressure inside the arm cuff 3 reaches 1600 mmHg, the display indicating insufficient pressurization on the switch/notification device 13 is erased, and the insufficient pressurization detection and The re-boosting completion reporting device 12 notifies the completion of boosting with a buzzer.

In addition, when the pressurization value by the first pressurization is 110 mmHg, the pressurization target value stored in the pressurization target value storage device 7 becomes (110+40)=150 mmHg.

Furthermore, if the initial pressure value is 100 mmHg (in this case, the subject feels little pressure from the cuff 3, and the pressure is almost never stopped at this level), the pressure increase target is The pressurization target value stored in the value storage device 7 is (100 + 40) = 140 mmHg, and the second pressurization also results in insufficient pressurization, and the pressurization target value stored in the pressurization target value storage device 7 is (140 + 40). = 180mmHg, and blood pressure measurement becomes possible after the third pressurization.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the pressurization value due to pressurization is lower than the systolic blood pressure value, it is determined that there is insufficient pressurization, and the value obtained by adding a predetermined value to the pressurization value is determined to be insufficient. Since it is set as the boost target value, 2
When pressurizing for the second time, the pressure will be increased to the above target pressure increase value, so there is no need to repeatedly increase the pressure to a pressure value that is insufficient as in the conventional example, and there is no need to increase the pressure unnecessarily. Blood pressure can be measured in a short period of time without causing pain due to excessive pressurization.
