Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent reception recording paper from being uselessly used by selecting optimum cut paper in accordance with the number of subscanning lines measured by a received image signal and printing out the signal. CONSTITUTION:A frame memory 1 stores binary images 2a decoded by a decoding part 2 in each page corresponding to a transmitted original. A counting circuit 3 measures the number of subscanning lines in each page of the transmitted original by the image signals 2a obtained from the decoding part 2 and outputs the number 3a of lines and a control part 4 compares the number 3a with a set value and outputs a size signal 4a indicating the specification of the size of cut recording paper and the specification of main scanning in the short side or long side of the recording paper. A printer 5 reads out the image signal stored in the frame memory 1 on recording paper specified by the size signal 4a and prints out the image.
