Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a liquid crystal display body from being brought to erroneous display by static electricity without using an expensive protective panel by juxtaposing additionally a conductive body whose one end is grounded on a deflecting plate. CONSTITUTION:A conductive body 20 is provided on the surface of a first deflecting plate 13a, its lower part is connected to a terminal 24, and also, a protective panel in front of the deflecting plate 13a is eliminated. In such a liquid crystal display device, when static electricity is generated toward a liquid crystal display body, its static electricity flows to a chassis through a sheet 20 and the terminal 24, and flows out to the outside therefrom. Accordingly, it does not occur that the liquid crystal display body generates an erroneous display due to static electricity, or static electricity flows to a microcomputer provided on a substrate from the liquid crystal display body and the microcomputer is broken down.

In the liquid crystal display 4 configured as described above, the first
When the gap between the transparent electrode 11a and the second transparent electrode tib is off, the molecular arrangement of the liquid crystal section 10 is twisted by 90 degrees, so that the incident deflection plane that has passed through the second deflection plate 13a is 90 degrees. On the other hand, when a voltage is applied to the liquid crystal section 10, the molecules of the liquid crystal section 10 are untwisted and rearranged in the direction of the electric field, and the input surface rotates. Therefore, the liquid crystal display 4 can be switched between a dark state and a bright state depending on the presence or absence of a voltage to the liquid crystal section IO. Figures etc. are displayed.
