て赤外線を投射する赤外発光ダイオードと、 上記の機器に設置されて上記赤外線の反射光を
受光して電気信号を発するフオトトランジスタと
、 上記電気信号の出力レベルが、予め設定された
値以上になつたとき、警報器及び表示器の少なく
とも何れかを作動させる電気回路とよりなる車外
物体の検知装置において、 前記の赤外発光ダイオードは複数個であり、 該複数個の発光ダイオードは相互に赤外線投射
方向を異にして設置されて、１個の発光ダイオー
ドによる赤外線投射角度よりも大きい角度で赤外
線を投射するように構成され、かつ、 前記フオトトランジスタは、上記大きい角度の
範囲内で反射された赤外線を受光し得るものであ
