Abstract

PURPOSE:To spread space for loading a recording paper sheet, when a paper is fed by manual insertion, further to form a device in small size, when it is in storage, by providing an auxiliary plate turned by a sliding member being associated with a recording paper guide plate in its rising and falling action. CONSTITUTION:In a storage condition that a recording paper guide plate 2 is erected, a sliding member 7 moves to the bottom by a pressing spring 8, and a bottom point end part of the sliding member 7 is protruded to the bottom from the guide plate 2, closing also an auxiliary plate 6 parallelly with the guide plate 2. Next, when the guide plate 2 is rotated in the clockwise direction with a mounting shaft 1a serving as the center, because the sliding member 7 is adapted to a copying machine main unit 1, the sliding member 7 is pressed into the inside of the guide plate 2 against the pressing spring 8. The sliding member 7, adapting its point end to an adapting wall 6c of the auxiliary plate 6 and pressing it, rotates the auxiliary plate 6 in the clockwise direction with a bearing 6a serving as the center, and a condition is obtained with a paper sheet feedable by manual insertion. The recording paper sheet is loaded in large space formed by both the guide plate 2 and the auxiliary plate 6. After this paper feed by manual insertion, the auxiliary plate 6 is returned to a storage condition by rotating the guide plate 2 in the reverse direction.

Recording devices such as electrophotographic copiers and printers are generally configured to feed a sheet of recording paper from outside the machine, transfer and record images such as characters onto it, and then take it out of the machine. . Sheet-shaped recording paper is usually of a frequently used size and quality, and is stored in a special paper feed cassette made to suit the paper, and then loaded into the recording device. The paper feeding means automatically pulls out the sheets one by one from the cassette and supplies them into the machine. Although this automatic paper feeding method is suitable for obtaining a large number of copies of the same size and paper quality,
If you want to change the paper quality, even if it is just one sheet, you have to replace each cassette, and there are many inconveniences such as not being able to use non-standard size recording paper that does not fit the cassette. In addition to automatic paper feeding using a paper cassette, many recent recording devices are equipped with a manual paper feeder that can manually feed recording paper of any size and quality one by one. Ta. This manual paper feed device is equipped with a guide plate that is rotatably mounted on the side of the recording device, and when automatically feeding paper using a paper feed cassette, it stands up and touches the side of the recording device. However, when it is rotated and placed in a position where manual paper feeding is possible, the paper feeding function from the paper cassette is stopped and the manual feeding recording paper inserted from the guide plate is transferred to the conveyance section of the recording device. It is designed to be used for image transfer, and is extremely convenient for users because it allows recording on non-standard recording paper or a small amount of recording paper at any time without removing the paper feed cassette.

As mentioned above, when manually feeding paper, the recording paper guide plate is placed face down and the recording paper is placed on it, but in the case of large size recording paper, it cannot be completely placed on the recording paper guide plate. Workers had to support the edges of the recording paper with their hands. In order to eliminate this hassle, some devices are equipped with a sliding auxiliary tray, but this also requires time and effort as the auxiliary tray must be slid each time it is used. This invention was made in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to provide a manual paper feed device that automatically expands the space for placing recording paper during manual paper feed, and that can be made more compact when the operation is finished. I am small.

The above object is to provide a manual paper feeder that feeds paper by lying a recording paper guide plate that can freely raise and lower, in which a rotatable auxiliary plate is pivotally supported at the rear end of the recording paper guide plate, and the recording paper guide plate A sliding member that slides in conjunction with the up-and-down movement of the plate is provided to engage with the auxiliary plate, and the auxiliary plate is rotated by the I8 moving member in conjunction with the up-and-down movement of the recording paper guide plate. This is achieved by a manual paper feeder characterized by having the following configuration.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. 1st
4 through 4 are illustrations of embodiments of a manual paper feeder according to the present invention. In these figures, l is the main body of the copying apparatus. Reference numeral 2 denotes a recording paper guide plate which is pivotally attached to the pivot shaft 1a of the main body 1 of the apparatus and is configured to be movable up and down on the main body 1. The recording paper guide plate 2 assumes an upright retracted state and a prone operating state. The recording paper (not shown) placed on the recording paper guide plate 2 is configured to be held and conveyed by a recording paper placement plate 3, a push-up plate 4, and a roller 5. Reference numeral 6 denotes an auxiliary plate rotatably supported at the end of the recording paper guide plate 2 by a bearing 6a. Bearing 6a of auxiliary plate 6
As shown in FIG. 4, a contact portion 6b is formed in the vicinity of the contact portion 6b, and a contact wall 6c is formed protruding from either direction. A sliding member 7 is slidably disposed inside the recording paper guide plate 2 and is biased by a pressing spring 8. The tip of the sliding member 7 is configured to be able to come into contact with the contact wall 6c of the auxiliary tray 6, and the protrusion 7a formed at the tip of the sliding member 7 allows the auxiliary tray 6 to come into contact. It is disposed so as to be able to come into contact with the portion 6b. Next, the operation will be explained. As shown in FIG. 2, in the stored state with the recording paper guide plate 2 upright, the sliding member 7 is moved downward by the push spring 8, and its lower tip protrudes below the recording paper guide plate 2 as shown in the figure. cage, auxiliary plate 6
is also closed parallel to the recording paper guide plate 2. Next, when the recording paper guide plate 2 is rotated clockwise about the pivot shaft 1a, the copying device main body l and the sliding member 7 come into contact with each other, so that the sliding member 7 resists the push spring 8. It is pushed into the inside of the recording paper guide plate 2. The other end of the sliding member 7 contacts and pushes the abutting wall 6c of the auxiliary plate 6, so the auxiliary plate 6 rotates clockwise around the bearing 6a and 113I!
The state shown in I is reached. Further, when the recording paper guide plate 2 is rotated clockwise, the auxiliary tray 6 also rotates further in conjunction with this, and the state shown in FIG. 1 is reached, allowing manual paper feeding. At this time, the recording paper can be placed in a large space formed by the recording paper guide plate 2 and the auxiliary tray 6. Next, when the manual paper feeding operation is finished and the recording paper guide plate 2 is rotated counterclockwise, the sliding member 7 is again moved to the outside by the push spring 8.
However, at this time, the protruding portion 7a contacts and presses the abutting portion 6b of the auxiliary tray 6, so that the auxiliary tray 6 also rotates counterclockwise to the stored state shown in FIG. return.

As explained above, in the manual paper feeder of the present invention, the auxiliary tray opens and closes only by rotating the recording paper guide plate, so there is no special operation required, and the space for placing recording paper during manual paper feeding is expanded. It also has the effect of being able to be made smaller when stored.
