Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep a stock good condition and to obtain a large drafting amount by edging the sheet stock by use of edging dies and restricting spread of the stock in upper and lower directions by press dies. CONSTITUTION:A sheet stock 16 is passed between upper and lower press dies 6, 8 and edging is prefomed so that the stock 16 is made to have a prescribed width dimension by edging dies 3 in one edging operation. The stock 16 freely expand in upper and lower directions by drafting from both sides and is brought to be a sheet stock having a thickness equal to a space between upper and lower press dies 6, 8 by restriction by the dies 6, 8 from part of way. Hence, a large edging amount is obtained without shape defects.
