A diamond grindstone in the shape shown in Figure 1 is used to cut stones, concrete, etc. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a steel substrate, and the circumference of the disk is divided into a large number of segments 3 by providing cutout grooves 2 on the periphery of the disk. A cutting whetstone is constructed by attaching a whetstone piece 4 containing diamond abrasive grains to each segment 3 by means such as brazing. 5 is a center hole for attaching to the rotating shaft. Hereinafter, the steel substrate 1 will be referred to as a base metal, and the grindstone piece 4 will be referred to as a chip. This type of cutting wheel is in large demand and is also simply referred to as a blade in the industry.

Since these blades are used in large quantities, improvements have been made in terms of cutting performance such as cutting finish quality and cutting efficiency, as well as economic efficiency such as blade life. The problem that remains at present is that cutting operations are accompanied by significant noise.

The harmful effects of noise are well known, and have become increasingly important in recent years. In addition, workers at the cutting site are constantly complaining about their difficulties. On the other hand, as the performance of blades improves, cutting operations become more efficient and the noise tends to become more intense.

As a noise countermeasure, soundproof walls are limited in their effectiveness and scope of application. It is desirable to reduce noise at the source as much as possible. The primary sources of noise during cutting work are vibrations emitted from the machine's drive system, cooling water injection system, and the point of contact between the blade and the material to be cut, such as stone or concrete. vibrate to create a secondary sound source. It is clear that blade vibration is the main cause of the strong noise.

There is a known principle of damping vibrations by constructing the base metal by stacking a plurality of steel plates, such as two or three plates, instead of a single plate base metal. There have been proposals for blades that prevent noise based on this principle, but none of them have been satisfactory. In other words, there were disadvantages such as the structure was unnecessarily complicated, the manufacturing cost increased, and there were concerns about the accuracy and strength of the base metal.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The means of the present invention is to stack a plurality of steel plates each having a large number of notched grooves at required intervals on the periphery and join them by spot welding, so that minute gaps are formed between each steel plate. The chip is attached to a segment between the notch grooves on the periphery of the base metal.

[Function] The vibration mode of the base metal is not simple even in the case of a single plate, but in the case of stacked plates, it is extremely complicated due to the coupled vibration of a plurality of elastic plates. Since the vibrations of each plate are not necessarily in phase, the small gap between the plates changes as a function of time and position between the plates. When the sheets are overlapped by spot welding, there is a thin air layer between the sheets. Due to the vibrational changes in the gap between the plates, the air moves repeatedly from the position where the gap is compressed to the position where the gap is widened, so the air flow in this minute gap acts as viscous resistance and causes the plate to vibrate. Attenuate.

[Example] (See Figures 3 and 4) Example 1 As a conventional product for comparison, the diameter is 300 mm, the number of segments is 20, the base metal thickness is 3.5 mm, the chip size is 5 mm thick,
The noise level when cutting granite with a blade 40 mm long and 8 mm deep was 94 to 95 phon at a distance of 1.5 m from the blade. On the other hand, the thickness is 1.7
A base metal 1 was obtained by spot welding 6 two steel plates 1a and 1b of mm in diameter to form minute gaps 7 and 7 as one body. The noise level when cutting the same granite under the same conditions using the same blade as the comparison product was 92 to 93 phon, which is 2 phon less than the conventional product.

Example 2 A base metal 1 made by spot welding 6 three steel plates 1a, 1b, 1c with a thickness of 1.1 mm to form a minute gap 7 and integrating them.
The blade is the same as that of Example 1, and the cutting noise is 88 to 89 phons, which is 6 phons lower than that of the conventional product.

Example 3 The blade has a diameter of 550 mm, the number of segments is 40, and the base metal has the same construction principle as Example 2. The noise when cutting granite with a blade is 87 to 89 phon, compared to 100 to 103 phon of the conventional equivalent product. It showed a decrease of 13-14 phon. Generally, the larger the blade diameter, the greater the noise, and this tendency is clearly seen in the conventional product when compared with the 300 mm diameter case of Examples 1 and 2. The effect is remarkable.

[Effects of the invention] According to the invention, a blade that damps vibrations and reduces noise can be obtained.
