The actual situation was that there was little hope of improving the system operating rate.

The present invention is characterized by having a relocation simulation means and a file relocation execution means for automatically relocating files based on the relocation information of the original file and new file created by the simulator.

表わす。In Figure 1, 1-1 stores disk attribute information such as the number of cylinders, number of tracks, and track capacity of each disk, as well as file attribute information such as the capacity of each file, file organization, block length, record length, and record format. The attribute information file 1-2 is a disk and file operation information file that stores operation information such as the busy rate of each disk and the number of accesses for each file. 1-3 is a disk and file operation information file that stores system characteristic factor data when performing the simulation, e.g. a simulation parameter file in which online responses, etc. are set; 1-4 a relocation information file that stores information on how each file was relocated as a result of an actual simulation using the above information as an input source; 1-4; 5 is a simulation list for checking the simulation results, 1-6 is a file relocation simulator, 1-7 is a production business file to be relocated, and l-8 is the file that was actually relocated. File relocation lists 1-9 for checking the results each represent a file relocation execution program that executes file relocation.
