下方位置に、各絃別或は1〜2本の絃別に絃の並
びに沿つて複数箇配列されており、又、個々の圧
電素子もほぼ直上位置の絃の振動をひろうことを
目的としていることから、個々の圧電素子は一般
的に幅が狭く、長さも、1又は2本の絃を対象に
するかによつて異なるものの比較的短く、長方形
のチツプ状に形成されているが、この場合、各圧
電素子のチツプに加わる絃の張力による押圧力が
個々に異なる上、チツプの位置等によつても各チ
ツプの感度にむらが生ずることから、この感度特
性を均一にするためには圧電素子とサドルとの間
に、感度を均一にするための何らかの媒体を介在
させなければならず、その場合、ピツクアツプの
生産コストが高くなる上、音の忠実度が低下する
と云う欠点があり、又、どんなに性能の良いピツ
クアツプであつても、ギターに対する実際の装着
に際しては各絃毎に感度の調節をしなければなら
ず、しかも、この感度調節には相当の技術と手間
を要すると云う欠点があつた。

よりハウジングが起り難く、又、圧電素子6はそ
の取付けに際して実質的な寸法制約がないため、
圧電素子6の材質、形状等を絃S1〜S6の周波
