Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate decoration of a three-dimensional molded article by providing an anchoring agent layer and a release layer on a plastic film base being excellent in thermoformability and by providing a pattern layer of ink of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate or acrylic resin and an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A base 1 is formed of polyvinyl chloride or the like having a thickness of 50 to 300 microns and excellent thermoformability, and an anchoring agent layer 2 of urethane resin maintains adhesion between a release layer 3 and the base 1. The release layer 3 is formed of a substance being inferior in the adhesion to a pattern layer, e.g. chlorinated polypropylene resin. Next, the pattern layer 4 is provided with ink containing vinyl chloride acryl resin by a silk screen printing method, and an adhesive layer 5 formed of urethane resin is provided. A transfer film thus prepared is softened by heating, made to adhere to a surface to be transferred of a three-dimensional molded article and cooled, and is exfoliated thereafter. Then the pattern layer is transferred entirely onto said surface and it is not left on the base.

<Prior Art> As transfer films, polyester films, polypropylene films, polyethylene films, paper and laminated films thereof, or paper-based films with a release agent provided on the release surface have been used as transfer films. These transfer films can reliably apply pictures if the shape of the surface to be transferred is flat, but if the shape of the surface to be transferred is complex or curved,
It was impossible to transfer it to a so-called three-dimensional molded product.

In addition, it is possible to paint the transferred surface of a three-dimensional molded product by laminating it if a polyvinyl chloride film with good thermoformability is used as the base material of the transfer film. In some cases, there is insufficient separation between the base material made of polyvinyl chloride film and the pattern layer made of ink using vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin or acrylic resin as a binder resin, which is commonly used as transfer ink, resulting in transfer painting. was unable to do so.

Therefore, in order to ensure the peeling of the base material and the painted layer, a configuration in which a release layer is provided between the base material and the painted layer is considered, but the base material with good thermoformability is the polyester film mentioned above. However, the resins that can be used as the release layer are limited.

Furthermore, the release layer made of these resins has poor adhesion to the above-mentioned transfer ink, and also has insufficient solvent resistance.
When painting was performed in a post-process, it also caused deterioration of the surface condition.
