Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent defective welding at the time of performing butt welding on end faces cut with a gradient in the cross direction of preceding and succeed ing beltlike metal plates by cutting both plates separately and rolling a joined part to suppress the occurrence of burrs at the time of cutting. CONSTITUTION:The preceding and succeeding beltlike metal plates 36 and 38 are fixed by outlet side and inlet side clamps 26 and 22 respectively. After the tip of the plate 36 is cut diagonally with a cutting unit 32 inclined by >=5 deg., a joining unit 14 is then slightly moved in the right direction and an end of the plate 38 is cut at the same angle as before by the unit 32. The unit 14 is then moved in the right direction and a welding unit 34 is arranged above the cut ends of the plates 36 and 38 and in this state, the clamps 26 and 22 are operated and the cut parts of the plates 36 and 38 are superposed (or abut ted) slightly on each other and fixed. Afterward, the plates 36 and 38 are welded and joined together by the unit 34 and the unit 14 is moved to the left direction and a rolling unit 30 is arranged above the joined part 48 to roll the joined part 48.

Methods and apparatuses for joining band-shaped metal plates include a method in which the band-shaped plates are overlapped and bonded, and a method in which the band-shaped plates are butt-joined. FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing a conventional overlapping joining method. The band-shaped metal plate 70 and the band-shaped metal plate 72 shown in FIG. 5 are overlapped, and the bonding surface 73 is bonded with double-sided adhesive tape or fused by ultrasonic waves (as described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 59-24526). However, in the conventional method of joining band-shaped metal plates as shown in FIG. 5, there is a step at the joining part, so it is not possible to make smooth contact with a bus roller or the like. Further, in the photosensitive layer coating process in the manufacture of lithographic printing plates, the coating device must be evacuated to prevent damage when the joint portion of the band-shaped metal plate passes through. Furthermore, even if the coating device is not retracted, the bonding surface 73 may trap air bubbles, which will adversely affect the coating state and cause quality defects.

In addition to this problem, since the joint surface 73 is often not bonded over the entire surface, the joint surface 73 may be bonded while the strip is being transported.

Therefore, the applicant of the present application has proposed a method of welding strip metal plates by butting them together or overlapping them by a small amount, and furthermore, in order to eliminate the problem caused by the step difference in the joint, a joining method in which the welded joint is rolled. (Special application 1986)
2-181895). In addition, in order to increase production efficiency, the joints of the metal strips are passed through a large number of bath rollers while being subjected to large tension. As a joining method that meets these demands, a method has been proposed in which the cut end of the welded joint is inclined at an angle of 5° or more with respect to the width direction of the band-shaped metal plate (Japanese Patent Application No. 62-257991). In such a welding method, the strength of the welded joint is increased when the bus rollers, etc. The degree of freedom increases.

However, this conventional joining method requires accurate positioning of the butting surfaces of the metal plates, so
There is a problem in that it is difficult to quickly and accurately butt the butt surfaces together, and it takes a long time to butt them. On the other hand, the work of joining strip-shaped metal plates is performed while they are being transported, and an Akinimulator is used to perform the joining work without stopping the transport line. However, the capacity of the accumulator is limited, and the time allotted for bonding operations is also limited. For this reason, if the joining work lasts a long time, there is a problem that the conveyance line will stop.

In order to solve this problem, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 61-276770 and Japanese Patent Application No. 63-31630 disclose a method for joining band-shaped metal plates. In this method, as shown in FIG. 6, a metal strip 76 and a metal strip 78 are overlapped, and the overlapping portion is tilted by θ0 (5 degrees or more) with respect to the width direction of the metal strip using a cutter or the like. Cut. Therefore, the abutting surfaces of the cut and formed band-shaped metal plates are accurately abutted against each other at the same time as the cutting, and this state can be maintained and welding can be performed immediately. As a result, the positioning operation of the abutting surfaces becomes unnecessary, and the efficiency of the joining operation can be improved. Also, when superimposing a minute amount, using this cut surface as a reference allows the minute amount to be superimposed quickly and accurately.

The rolling unit 30 performs a rolling process on the welded portion between the band-shaped metal plate 36 and the band-shaped metal plate 38 using a rolling roller 30A. This rolling process can press and eliminate the level difference that occurs in the welded joint. Furthermore, by this rolling treatment, the tensile strength decreased by welding is recovered by work hardening, and the joint strength is increased because the shape is processed into a shape that is less likely to cause stress concentration.

(1) In the band metal plate joining method of welding and joining the leading band metal plate and the trailing band metal plate, the leading band metal plate is fixed, the trailing band metal plate is fixed, and the cutting unit is rotated by 5°. Cut the end of the leading metal strip diagonally by tilting it above the same angle as above, use the cutting unit to cut the end of the metal metal sheet trailing at the same angle as the metal sheet leading to the metal sheet, and operate the matching unit to cut the metal sheet leading to the metal sheet. The cutting parts of the metal plate and the trailing metal plate are butted or overlapped by a small amount and fixed, and the welding means is moved to the abutting part or the overlapped part by a small amount to weld the leading metal band and the metal plate to the trailing band. A method for joining band-shaped metal plates, characterized by joining, and then moving a rolling means to a welding position and rolling.
