Abstract

PURPOSE:To discriminate whether picture information is received and recorded through a secret picture information restoring part or not by detecting a line terminate code of picture information in the input and the output of the secret picture information restoring part. CONSTITUTION:Facsimile picture information received from a line 1 is decoded to binary picture information. This information is branched to signals 4 and 5 in parallel for the purpose of discriminating whether picture information is kept secret or not, and the signal 4 is monitored by a shift register SR 1. When a transmission control part TC judges that picture is not secret, a changeover switch SW 1 is set to the side of the signal 4. The signal 5 is monitored by a shift register SR 2; and when the transmission control part TC judges that picture information is secret, the switch SW 1 is set to the side of the signal 5. Thus, it is automatically discriminated whether picture is secret or not and a recorded picture is reproduced on the reception side.

Conventional facsimile machines employ a method of determining whether or not image information is anonymized, for example by adding a header code to the image information in advance and determining whether or not the image information is anonymized based on the presence or absence of this code. Alternatively, a method has been adopted in which the transmitting and receiving operators agree in advance whether or not to conceal the information, and the communication is performed by setting whether or not to conceal the information.

The above-mentioned conventional facsimile apparatus has the following drawbacks because it attaches a header code that precedes the image information to be transmitted. First, since the amount of information increases by the header code, the completion time becomes longer. Second, the header code is determined uniquely to each secret system, and is not universally applicable.

Note that CD0N indicates the timing at which chiaria is detected simultaneously with the end of the high-speed modem training signal that precedes the image information. 11 is whether the image information is kept secret or not.
The timing of determination by detecting the OL code is shown. Here, τ indicates the time required from CD0N to tl, which can normally be determined immediately after CD0N by the EOL code added to the beginning of the image information, so there is no loss of image information. Furthermore, even if the EOL code at the beginning of the image information is corrupted due to an error in the transmission path and it is impossible to detect the EOL code, the EOL code will always be

As explained above, by adding the simple hardware shown in 14 in FIG. 1, the present invention not only makes it possible to automatically discriminate whether or not image information is concealed, but also is shown. Since the EOL code is used, no extra information is added, so there is an effect that communication can be performed without increasing the transmission time.
