Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 従来の卓球用ラケツトとしては、大きく分け
て、第1図示の単板ラケツトと第2図示の合板ラ
ケツトとに分けられる。単板ラケツトは、グリツ
プ1を取り付けるラケツト本体の板体2を所定厚
さの一放板により形成した構造のものであり、合
板ラケツトは、3,5,7枚等適宜数枚の薄板3
を互いに繊維方向を直交する状態で重合し接着し
て一体化させてグリツプ1を取り付けるラケツト
本体の板体を形成した構造のものである。しかし
て、この単板ラケツトと合板ラケツトはそのラケ
ツト本体の板体の形成構造の相違により夫々異な
る特性を有している。即ち、単板ラケツトは、ラ
ケツト本体の板体が繊維方向が一様の一枚板によ
り形成されているため、飛んできたボールを打ち
返す際には、ボールがラケツト本体にある程度喰
い込みラケツト本体にはしなりが生じ、したがつ
て合板ラケツトに比してボールとラケツトとの接
触時間が長く得られボールをラケツトにて捕捉し
た状態で打球操作を行なうことができ、その結
果、ボールに対する回転およびコントロールがつ
け易く、ボールの伸び飛距離とも良好で威力ある
ボールを返球することができる。しかし、飛んで
きたボールを強く弾き返す反発力は合板ラケツト
に比し小さいため、打球の初速は合板ラケツトに
対して得られない。これに対して合板ラケツト
は、ラケツト本体の板体が適宜数枚の薄板を互い
に繊維方向を直交する状態で重合接着した構造で
あるため、単板に比して反発力が強く、初速の速
いしたがつてスピードのある打球を素早く打ち返
すことができる。しかし、構造上しなりが減殺さ
れており、そのためボールのラケツト本体に対す
る喰い込みがなく単板ラケツトのようなボールを
ラケツトにて捕捉した状態で打球操作をするとい
う感じは得られず、ボールは単に硬い板の表面に
当つて弾き飛ばされる状態であり、したがつて単
板ラケツトに比して、ボールに対する回転および
コントロールがつけにくく、ボールの伸び飛距離
も得られず威力に欠けるきらいがある。

表裏両外面板4,4の間に外面板の約1/4〜1/3程
度の厚さの中芯板5を介在し、表裏両外面板4,
4と中芯板5とを接着した三層構造となしたもの
である。表裏両外面板4,4と中芯板5の繊維方
向は互いに直交する状態となつている。ちなみ
に、外面板4の厚さを約4mmとなした場合、中芯
板5の厚さは約1.0〜1.5mm程度となしている。実
験の結果、外面板4の厚さ約4mmに対して中芯板
5の厚さを約1.5mm以上となした場合にはあまり
良好な効果が得られなかつた。中芯板5は、一枚
板に限らず、数枚の薄板に分割して重合接着し全
体として厚さ約1mm〜1.5mmのものとなしてもさ
しつかえない。外面板4の木質は、単板ラケツト
の場合と同様桧材を用いるが、中芯板5の木質は
桧材もしくは南洋産、欧州産、カナダ産等の外来
材を用いてもさしつかえない。但し、中芯板5の
硬度は外面板4と同等もしくはやや硬質のものを
用いた方が好適である。また、中芯板5は木質に
限らずカーボンを使用する場合もある。

トの場合と同様に強い反発力が得られることとな
り、そのため単板ラケツトの場合に比して初速の
速いスピードに優れたボールを返球することがで
きる。また、その場合、外面板にはしなりが生ず
るとともに反発力が増強されるので、合板ラケツ
トのようにボールは単にラケツトに当たつて弾じ
き飛ぶ状態で返球されるものではなく、単板ラケ
ツトに比しても一層威力のあるボールを返球する
