The present invention is an adhesive bonding member for simple bookbinding, which is used in a technique of bonding a large number of sheets with an adhesive to form a book or pamphlet, etc., in particular, which is made by providing a hot melt adhesive layer on one side of resin-impregnated paper. Regarding. There are many methods of bookbinding, such as stable binding, punch-thread binding, a method using a ring-shaped lock member, and wireless binding using adhesive. However, although stapling is a simple method, it has drawbacks such as poor durability because it can tear and fall out, and it is not suitable for thick bookbinding. In addition, hole-punch and thread binding requires complicated processing machinery and is not simple enough to be used in an office. The method using a ring-shaped locking member also involves punching holes in the sheet, which is time consuming and expensive. By the way, for perfect binding with adhesive, there are two methods: using a back cover with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, applying hot-melt adhesive to the spine of the sheet and hardening it, and applying hot-melt adhesive tape to the spine and heating it to bond. There is a way to do it. Methods using pressure-sensitive adhesives have the drawback of weak adhesive strength and deterioration. The method of applying hot melt adhesive requires time and effort to adjust the applicator and replenish the adhesive, and also requires a separate cover.
It is necessary to adhere the paper to this, which makes the bookbinding process troublesome. Furthermore, if a cover is not used, the binding strength will be reduced and the appearance will be poor. The method of using hot-melt adhesive tape is time-consuming because it involves preparing a separate cover, temporarily fixing the tape to it, and heating and adhering it. As described above, all conventional bookbinding techniques have drawbacks, and it has not been possible to obtain sturdy and beautiful books using simple methods. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide an adhesive bonding member for simple bookbinding, which enables simple bookbinding, good finished appearance, and excellent bookbinding strength and durability. The adhesive bonding member for bookbinding of the present invention is in the form of a strip of resin-impregnated paper with an adhesive layer on one side, and the resin-impregnated paper has a stiffness in the width direction (measured by the method of JIS P8125) of 5 gf cm or less. It is characterized by If the stiffness of the resin-impregnated paper for the adhesive bonding member for bookbinding of the present invention is 5 gf cm or less, styrene
Various impregnated papers impregnated with butadiene latex, methacrylate-butadiene latex, acrylic resin, etc. can be used. Stiffness is desirable
It is less than 3 gf/cm. As shown in FIG. 1, the adhesive bonding member for bookbinding of the present invention has an adhesive layer 2 applied to the longitudinal center of a resin-impregnated paper 1. This adhesive binding member is used as shown in Figure 3, but since the spine 3 of the book is wrapped in the transverse direction of the adhesive binding member, the stiffness of the resin-impregnated paper is reduced.
If it exceeds 5 gf/cm, the impregnated paper will not bend properly at the corner between the book cover and the spine, and the spine will not make enough contact with the material, resulting in defective bookbinding.
In addition, after bookbinding, the spine is not flexible, making it difficult to open the pages and reducing the strength of the spine. It becomes flexible, the pages are easier to open, and the strength of the spine is less likely to deteriorate. Furthermore, in order to obtain durability for bookbinding, the resin-impregnated paper must have a folding strength (according to JIS P8115) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the adhesive bonding member of 300 times or more, preferably 500 times or more. The tear strength in the longitudinal direction (according to JIS P8116) must be 50 g or more, preferably 70 g or more. Furthermore, the dry polishing loss (according to TAPPI T476) is 500 at 100 rotations.
It is desirable that it is less than mg. Further, it is desirable that the resin-impregnated paper has an air permeability (according to JIS P8117) of 8 seconds to 1000 seconds. If the floatability value is too high (1000 seconds or more), the hot melt adhesive will not penetrate into the resin-impregnated paper when melted, causing it to protrude onto the cover and reducing the binding strength. On the other hand, if the temperature is too low (8 seconds or less), the hot melt adhesive may ooze out onto the surface of the impregnated paper. The hot melt adhesive layer may be provided on one side of the adhesive bonding member for bookbinding according to the present invention, but as shown in FIGS. The coating layer 2 may be provided along the longitudinal direction in the central portion. This is to prevent the adhesive from spilling out onto the cover if the adhesive layer is thick. Pressure-sensitive adhesives can also be used, but hot-melt adhesives are most suitable from the viewpoint of bookbinding strength. As the hot melt adhesive, those based on various synthetic resins such as ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resin base, polyethylene base, polypropylene base, polyamide base, polyester base, etc. can be used. The present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the following examples. Examples 1 to 3 Using various papers, hot melt adhesive based on ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resin (30 parts by weight of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer, 20 parts by weight of microcrystalline wax)
10 parts paraffin wax, 5 parts rosin derivative
1) was applied using a perter coater to produce an adhesive bonding member for bookbinding as shown in FIG. A bookbinding test was performed on the thus obtained member using a 750 bookbinding machine manufactured by Xerox Co., Ltd. to evaluate the bookbinding quality, and the results shown in Table 1 were obtained.
