[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] This invention operates by alternately repeating a high-voltage charging time in which a high DC voltage is supplied to a dust collecting section and a charging pause time in which the charging is temporarily stopped. This invention relates to an improvement in the operating method of an intermittent charging electrostatic precipitator.

Generally, when collecting high-resistance dust with a resistivity exceeding 10 10 to 10 11 Ω・cm, it is well known that a reverse ionization phenomenon occurs within the dust collector, reducing the dust collection efficiency. It is being As one of the measures to prevent the occurrence of such reverse ionization phenomenon, one cycle of commercial power supply
By alternately repeating the charging time in which DC voltage is supplied to the dust collection part and the charging pause time in which the charging is temporarily stopped within a range of about a cycle, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of reverse ionization and also to save power. An intermittent charging method has been proposed.

Figure 2 shows the relationship between electrical resistance of dust, charging voltage, discharge current, and dust collection rate. In the high-resistance dust region, just before complete reverse ionization occurs, the frequency of spark generation increases. Although a relatively high voltage can be obtained, the discharge current is drastically reduced and sparks are generated.
Forced charging stop (half cycle to 1 cycle) and recharging mode are repeated to prevent the transition from spark to arcing, and as the non-charging time increases, the corona power required for dust collection decreases, improving dust collection efficiency. η will also decrease. If the intermittent charging method is operated in this region, the forcible charging stop due to spark generation and the charging suspension period due to intermittent charging will occur, further reducing the dust collection efficiency η.

This invention has experimentally confirmed that when operating an electrostatic precipitator in a high-resistance dust region where sparks occur frequently, the dust collection performance improves during continuous charging after intermittent charging, and further deteriorates over time. The charging mode is configured to automatically switch from "intermittent charging method" to "continuous charging method" to "intermittent charging method" as a means to prevent deterioration in dust collection performance in a high-resistance dust region where sparks occur frequently.

In the power supply device, the number of sparks generated by the spark detection unit, which consists of an increase in charging current, etc. is integrally replaced with the frequency of occurrence, and the spark detection frequency is determined by the memorizable spark detection device in the state where "intermittent charging mode" is selected. If the condition where the frequency exceeds the set frequency Ns continues for more than the time set in timer 1, the charge control mode changeover switch automatically switches to "continuous charge mode".
can be switched to In the "continuous charging mode", a relatively stable charging state with no sparks or infrequent sparks can be obtained due to the effect of increasing the dust removal effect during hammering in the "intermittent charging mode", and the dust collection performance is temporarily improved. However, over time, the charging voltage increases, the current decreases, and the frequency of spark generation tends to increase again. If the spark frequency continues to be equal to or higher than the set frequency Ns' for a period of time set by the timer 2, the charging mode is automatically switched to the "intermittent charging mode" by the charging control mode changeover switch.

In "intermittent charging mode" after "continuous charging",
Depending on the initial thickness of the dust deposited on the dust collection electrode plate, intermittent charging can improve dust collection performance. Like this,
It is designed to combine the advantages of "intermittent charging" and "continuous charging" to increase the total dust collection efficiency of the dust collector.
