Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a leak in ozone generation while improving a sterilizing effect by disposing an ozone generating section on a position downstream of a heater in a drying air course while supplying current simultaneously or alternately to the heater and ozone generating section in the ozone generation. CONSTITUTION:A titanium catalyzer filter 27 for resolving ozone is disposed at the upstream side of a drain port 26, a heater 28 formed of positive characteristic thermistor is disposed at the downstream side of the drain port 26 and an ozone generating section 29 formed of a ceramic electrode is disposed at the downstream side of the heater 28. In a sterilizing process, an indicating unit 39 turns on and off a LED corresponding to the sterilizing process and a sterilization control section 47 operates the heater 28 and the ozone generating section 29, or alternately operates them in consideration of overheat of clothes and capacity of power source. This operation is continued until a sterilizing time counter 48 is counted up. The sterilizing operation applies high voltage to the ozone generating section 29 to generate ozone and supplies thereto dried air heated by the heater 28 to lower the relative humidity so that the ozone and dried air are supplied to a drum 10 to sterilize received clothes.

In this sterilization process, the display device 39 blinks the LED corresponding to the sterilization process, and the sterilization control unit 47 operates the heater 28 and the ozone generator 29. Alternatively, they may be activated alternately, taking into account the overheating of the clothing and the power supply capacity. The operation is continued until the sterilization time counter 48 counts up. In this sterilization work, a high voltage is applied to the ozone generator 29 to generate ozone, and dry air heated by the heater 28 and lowered in relative humidity is passed through the ozone generator 29 to transfer the ozone and dry air to the drum 1.
