Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the cleaning of a laser beam emitting lens with simple and miniaturized constitution by protruding a cleaning member for lens surface incorporated in an optical disk cartridge at the time of inserting the cartridge in an optical disk device. CONSTITUTION:When the optical disk cartridge in a case 1 where an optical disk medium is housed is inserted to the loader of the optical disk device, a shutter 3 is opened by a shutter opening/closing arm, and a mounting metal fitting 5 is turned interlocking with a pinion 10 meshed with a rack 6 at the inside of the shutter 3. Thereby, the brush of the cleaning member incorporated in the case 1 is protruded, and the surface of the laser beam emitting lens of the optical disk device is cleaned up. Therefore, the laser beam emitting lens can be cleaned up satisfactorily with the simple and miniaturized constitution without necessitating compressed air, etc., and an error in readout or write due to the lowering of the output of a laser beam can be prevented from being generated.

ッドのレーザ光出射レンズのクリーニング機構付に係り
、特に光ディスク等の高密度記録再生装置に使用する光
ディスクカートリッジのクリーニング機構に関する。

従来の光ディスク装置では、光ディスクカートリッジを
挿入する事により、光ディスク装置内にもうけられた空
気圧縮ポンプを動かしその圧縮空気によりレーザ光出射
レンズ表面をクリーニングする機構がある。

しかしながら上記従来技術では、光ディスク装置内に空
気圧縮ポンプのスペースが必要となり必然的に装置が大
きくなる。又、光ディスクカートリッジを入れる時、空
気圧縮ポンプを動かす為、挿入力が大きくなる。又粘着
性塵埃が付着した時は圧縮空気では飛ばしきれないとの
問題があった。

光ディスクカートリッジに設けられたレンズクリーニン
グ部材は通常カートリッジ内に収納されておりカートリ
ッジを光ディスク装置に挿入すると出て来る。このまま
カートリッジを挿入するとレーザ光出射レンズの上をク
リーニング部材が通りすぎる為、レンズ表面がクリーニ
ングされる。

ドアクセス穴7がおいている。通常このヘッドアクセス
穴7はシャッタ3でおおわれている。シャッタ3の内側
にはラック6がもうけられておりブラシ4の取付金具5
にはピニオン10がありラック6とかみ合っている。

飛び出して来るこの状態を第4図に示す。その状態のま
ま光ディスクカートリッジをさらにローダ12内に押し
込むとブラシ4は書込み読み出しヘッド8上のレーザ光
出射レンズ14の表面をクリニングする。この状態を第
5図に示す。

置に挿入出し入れするごとにレーザ光出射レンズ表面を
クリーニングする事が出来、レンズ表面の付着ゴミによ
るレーザ光出力低下による書込み、読み出し誤りを無く
す事が出来る。

する光ヘッドを有する光ディスク装置において、光ディ
スクのレンズ表面をクリーニングするクリーニング部材
を設け、該クリーニング部材は通常光ディスクカートリ
ッジ内に収納されており、光ディスクカートリッジを光
ディスク装置に挿入したときに突出してレンズ表面をク
リーニングすることを特徴とする光ディスク装置。
