(Prior art) When attaching a window sash to a window frame, a pair of stays are used to allow the sash to open and close around a nearly horizontal axis, or, in the case of casement windows, to open and close around a nearly vertical axis. It is normal for the door to open and close around the center. In conventional stays, respective mounting plates are used for the sash and the frame, and the sash mounting plate and the frame mounting plate are pivotally connected via an arm. The end of the sash mounting plate opposite the end to which the arm is pivotally connected is pivotally connected to a carriage that is frictionally slidably mounted on the frame mounting plate. has been done. Therefore, since the carriage moves with friction when the window is opened and closed,
In addition, in other stay configurations, friction occurs at the pivot joint, so the window can be held open at the desired opening degree.

However, the amount of friction against the free sliding of the carriage varies depending on the degree of opening of the window, and sometimes cannot be corrected simply by adjusting the stay. Therefore,
The amount of force required to open and close the stays may vary depending on the position of the carriage at the time. Furthermore, once wear occurs, the amount of friction increases or decreases over time, making it difficult to operate the stay or causing it to become inoperable.

There are other problems with such conventional window stays. Generally, window stays are constructed to operate satisfactorily not only due to friction between the carriage and the mounting plate and friction at the pivot joint, but also due to the geometry of the stay.
In other words, the satisfactory operation of the window stay depends not only on the friction created in the aforementioned pivot connections, but also on its own geometrical layout. This means that different types of stays need to be used depending on the size and weight of the sash. Therefore, manufacturers must prepare various stays depending on the size and weight of the sash. In addition, conventional stays are relatively large, and
Insufficient to support heavy casement windows.

In any case, in conventional stays, it is not possible to adjust the amount of friction that occurs in the pivot joint. Considering that depending on the size and weight of the sash, a small amount of friction is sufficient in some cases, while others require a large amount of friction, if the amount of friction cannot be adjusted, the use of window stays will be limited. It will be difficult for you to do so.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, the present invention substantially eliminates the aforementioned problems associated with conventional sashes in which the sash mounting plate is coupled to a frame mounting plate by a friction sliding carriage. This window allows the amount of frictional resistance that acts on the carriage in the moving path to be adjusted, and therefore can be used without being affected by the size or weight of the sash in actual use. The purpose is to provide a stay for people.

As shown in FIG. 4, these sleeves 23 and 24 include an upper ear portion 22, an upper sleeve 23,
It is held in a predetermined position on the flat plate 20 constituting the carriage 14 by a threaded pin 25 inserted through the lower ear 22 and the lower sleeve 24 . The free end of the threaded pin 25 inserted in this way is screwed into the threaded hole 26 of the cylindrical adjustment member 27, so that the threaded pin 25 can be accidentally inserted into the carriage 14.
There's no way you can get away from it. It should be noted that the adjustment member 27 has a threaded hole 26 formed at one end thereof and receives the free end of the threaded pin 25 as described above, and the other end thereof has a threaded hole 26 as clearly shown in FIG. , openings 28 spaced apart from each other at 90° intervals open the adjusting member 2.

In the above configuration, the adjustment member 27 is screwed onto the free end of the threaded pin 25 inside the housing 17.
Any of the openings 28 in
When opened to the state shown in the figure, the housing 17 is exposed to the outside through a small gap 19 formed in a portion of the housing 17. Therefore, when an operating rod such as a screwdriver is inserted into any of the openings 28 of the adjusting member 27 through the small gap 19 and the adjusting member 27 is rotated, the threaded pin 25 is moved in the longitudinal direction. Along the line, the pressure acting on the lower sleeve 24 is adjusted. That is, when the adjusting member 27 is rotated in the tightening direction with respect to the threaded pin 25, the sleeve 24
The pressure acting on the shaft increases, and when the shaft is rotated in the direction of loosening, the pressure decreases. Therefore, when the adjusting member 27 is rotated in the tightening direction to increase the pressure acting on the sleeve 24, the sleeve 24 is compressed in its longitudinal direction and the body portion expands, that is, the effective diameter of the sleeve 24 increases. ,
Its outer surface comes to be pressed against the inner wall surface of the housing 17. When the sleeve 24 and the inner wall surface of the housing 17 come into contact in this manner, the movement of the carriage 14 with respect to the frame mounting plate 10 is accompanied by friction. Needless to say, the amount of friction at this time is
This depends on the degree of contact between the sleeve 24 and the inner wall surface of the housing 17. This friction thus causes the carriage 1 to move against the frame mounting plate 13.
4 movement is controlled. Sleeve 24 therefore constitutes a friction sleeve and sleeve 23 constitutes a control sleeve. In this way, by adjusting the adjustment member 27, the frictional contact pressure can be increased or decreased mainly depending on the size and weight of the sash to be supported by the stay.

Note that various modifications can be made to the window stay according to the present invention. For example, each of the aforementioned pivot connections need not be frictional, as long as the aforementioned frictional contact is achieved between the carriage and the housing. Also, depending on the configuration of the window, instead of directly pivoting the sash mounting plate to the carriage as shown, another arm shorter than the arm shown may be used to pivotly connect the sash mounting plate to the carriage. It is also possible.

(Effects of the Invention) In the window stay according to the present invention, even if the movement of the carriage is accompanied by friction, the friction sleeve will not get caught in the housing. Moreover, by appropriately adjusting the pressure acting on the friction sleeve, the friction force can be adjusted to correspond to a wide range of supporting capacities, and even in situations where low friction force is required, the present invention Window stays are available.

Furthermore, since the window stay according to the present invention has a frictional force adjustment function as described above, manufacturers only need to keep a limited stock of stays of different sizes. be. However, it goes without saying that in most cases, only one type of window stay according to the present invention will be used for a wide range of sashes of different sizes and weights.

Furthermore, with the window stay according to the present invention, even if the sash is opened slightly, for example, by 2° or 3° from the closed position, the sash is moved by the frictional force created between the friction sleeve and the inner wall surface of the housing. It can be held in that state. Further, the present invention can also be applied to a cantilever casement window sash which is very large and heavy. Since the housing that houses the sliding part of the carriage, which is constituted by the above-mentioned ear part and the pair of sleeves, is configured to completely surround the sliding part, the window stay according to the present invention is advantageous. ,
Suitable for use in coastal areas where the sliding surfaces tend to accumulate dust. Furthermore, since it is surrounded as described above, it is less likely to wear out.
