Claims

A document surface transparent plate material on which a document is placed, a rod lens array that receives reflected light from the document and forms an image at the same magnification on a photoelectric conversion element, and a rod lens array that holds this rod lens array and is connected to the document surface transparent plate material. In a document stationary image reading device equipped with a carrier that moves parallel to the sub-scanning direction, a shaft is provided to slidably support the carrier at both ends thereof, and one shaft has both ends connected to the main body of the device. What is claimed is: 1. A stationary original image reading device, characterized in that the other shaft is connected to the main body of the device so that the carrier is fixed, the other shaft is movable slightly in the main scanning direction, and movement is restricted in the vertical direction.
