The tension pad is a pad made of felt or the like that strongly presses down on the strip surface. This is because if hard foreign matter adheres to the felt surface, it will scratch the product surface and cause wear due to friction, making it necessary to replace the part.Furthermore, since it is pressed down and generates tension, the power on the winding side is It has disadvantages such as placing an extra burden on it.

This device also has problems when used as a back-tension generator for winding up a strip that has been run through a slitter and cut into longitudinal strips. Because of the difference in thickness between the center and both ends of the strip, there is a difference in the winding diameter of each strip in the middle and on both ends of the coil on the winding side, which causes a difference in the advancing speed of each strip. This is because as a result, it starts to slip on the belt. This causes belt wear and requires belt replacement.

FIG. 1 shows a small roll 1 having a minute width using commercially available standard ball bearings, which are fitted in a large number in parallel to a support shaft 2 to form a roll 3 as one piece. The width of the small roll 1 can be selected depending on the width of the bearing used for it. The diameter of the entire roll, the diameter of the bearings used therein, and its width can be selected as appropriate by increasing or decreasing the number of bearings attached. There is a slight gap between the bearings, allowing them to rotate freely without touching each other. Also, if there is a chamfer on the peripheral edge of the outer ring of the bearing, remove it by scraping it. This can prevent foreign matter from accumulating on the chamfer.

The large rolls on both sides are fixed rolls 4, and both ends of a roll support shaft 2 are fixed to a support stand 6 with screws 5 and nuts 7. The large roll in the middle is a movement roll of 8,
This roll support shaft is fixed to the moving table 9 using screws and nuts in the same manner as described above, and the moving table 9 is attached to the roll stand 10 so that it can be moved up and down. The roll position can be adjusted. A screw jack 11 is installed on the upper part of the roll stand 10, and the moving roll 8 is moved up and down by the rotation of the screw. This Screwy Jack 11 is remote controlled,
Can be operated from any position. Note that a hydraulic jack may be used instead of the screw jack.

At this time, since the strip is bent, it receives a reaction force from the roll against the tension of the winding, and a component of this reaction force in the opposite direction to the tension force generates back tension. moreover,
When winding a strip that has been run through a slitter and cut into a number of strips in the longitudinal direction, it is possible to sufficiently deal with differences in the speed of progress of each strip due to the difference in the winding diameter of each strip. In other words, since the roll of the present invention has a structure in which each small roll can rotate independently, the corresponding small rolls of each strip can rotate independently at a speed that matches the advancing speed of each strip. Since it can be rotated by hand, it can be moved without slipping on the roll.

The use of rotating rolls reduces the power on the winding side,
Leads to energy savings. It is wear resistant due to rolling contact, and the load is shared between each small roll, resulting in durability and no need for parts replacement. Furthermore, it is easy to manufacture and inexpensive to manufacture, and it will be even cheaper if commercially available standard bearings are used. It also has various advantages such as being able to be easily added to existing equipment.
