Recently, scissors made of ceramic materials have been provided for the purpose of increasing the wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which were insufficient in conventional metal scissors. There are two types of ceramic scissors: one that is made entirely of ceramic material, and the other that is a composite type that has a handle made of metal and a blade made of ceramic material. Since machining was not easy, the only option was to make the blade of the scissors flat and the cutting edge straight up. On the other hand, metal scissors have blades that are curved inward and have a recess on the back of the blade called a back suki, so the blade tips make point contact to form a cutting point, which cuts as it moves. , good sharpness.
Ceramic scissors cannot make point contact like this, and the entire blade slides while making surface contact, which results in high friction and poor usability, as well as rapid wear and tear, which does not take advantage of the characteristics of ceramics. .

The scissors of the present invention are shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3.
As shown in the figure, the blade 2 and handle 3 are made of metal, and the blade 2 is curved inward and has a back gap 22.
This is a metal-ceramics composite scissors 1 in which a ceramic cutting edge 21 is bonded via a plastic intermediate layer 4. Any metal can be used to form the handle and blade of the scissors, and since they are not used for the cutting edge, cutting quality is not an issue, so you can choose from a wide range of metals. The ceramic that holds the cutting edge is also optional, but
Practically speaking, partially stabilized zirconia or alumina are suitable. The plastic used for the intermediate layer may be a general-purpose plastic material such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or polyvinyl chloride, and a relatively flexible one is preferable. Metal and ceramic can be joined by heat fusion using the thermoplasticity of the plastic film used as the intermediate layer.

In the composite scissors of the present invention, only the cutting edge 21 is made of ceramics, and the remaining blades 2 and handle 3 are made of metal, which is easy to process, so that a back gap 22 can be formed on the back of the blades, as shown in FIG. By providing the plastic intermediate layer 4 between the cutting edge 21 and the blade 2, it is possible to absorb the impact applied to the cutting edge.
Prevents chipping of ceramics that can occur when cutting hard objects.

Cut the cutting edge of the existing steel scissors to a depth of 0.3 mm.
A width of about 2 mm was carved out, and a polyethylene film with a thickness of just over 0.1 mm was placed in the middle, and a zirconia plate with a thickness of just over 0.2 mm and a width of just over 2 mm was joined by heating and pressing. The zirconia plates are thin enough that they can be joined according to the curvature of the blade. The cutting edge to which this zirconia was bonded was finished using a diamond grinder, and a back gap was created.

According to the present invention, it is possible to realize metal-ceramic composite scissors having a back gap on the back of the blade. The scissors of the present invention are sharp because the blades make point contact, similar to steel scissors. Since there are no sliding parts that are unavoidable in conventional scissors using ceramics, there is less wear and tear, and the advantages of ceramics can be fully utilized. The weak point of ceramic scissors, where the blades break due to the impact of cutting, has also been overcome.
