Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a polypropylene resin composition giving a molding of imperceptible scratch if any, capable of keeping excellent appearance over a long period and suitable for interior and exterior trim for automobile, etc., by compounding specific amounts of inorganic filler and organic pigment. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 50-99wt.% (preferably 70-90wt.%) of a polypropylene resin with (B) 1-50wt.% (preferably 10-30wt.%) of an inorganic filler (e.g., surface-treated talc having an average particle diameter of <=4mum) and (C) 0.1-10wt.% (preferably 1-5wt.%) of an organic pigment.

Polypropylene is widely used in the field of automobile parts because it has excellent mechanical strength, good melt fluidity, is easy to mold, and can be easily colored into any color with a small amount of pigment. In order to increase the rigidity of molded products for automobile parts, inorganic fillers such as talc are mixed in and used.
